“Look, Emma was the one that was traumatized, not me; no need for the shrink wrap,” Casey said bluntly, floating in midair and continuing to play some game on her phone. “If I could get her out, I’d make you give her this talk.”
“Casey, you may say that you’re just Emma’s self-defense mechanism-a mask she uses to shield herself from hardships- but we both know that you feel emotions that are just as real as hers; they’re your friends too,” Canary insisted, glancing upwards at the ghost girl. “So please, take a seat, and let’s talk.”
The white-haired girl scoffed, dropping onto her seat before pocketing her phone and leaning forward. “You wanna talk? Fine. Let’s ‘talk’ about how you sent a girl who already has intense anxiety issues into a forced failure mission. Let’s ‘talk’ about how nobody had a failsafe in mind for if things went south with the simulation. Let’s ‘talk’ about how Emma has sealed herself in the farthest recesses of our shared mind because she’s so traumatized!”
“You’re right; we should’ve had measures to prevent what happened, but I’m sensing that’s not all you want to talk about,” the blonde said honestly, offering a gentle, concerned gaze to the girl.
“You’re damn right; I’ve got a lot more to talk about than that,” Casey informed, standing up and beginning to pace the room. “... Look, Emma’s been so confident since the attack on the cave, and I was so happy that she was finally coming into her own, finally able to keep her anxiety from getting in the way of what she thought was right, but now? Now, I’m angrier than ever!”
“Anger is usually directed at someone, so who are you angry at, Casey?” Canary questioned softly.
“No one; I’m just angry, and I don’t know why!” Casey ranted, looking absolutely miserable as her hair slid forward and hid her face.
“You and I both know that isn’t true, so who are you angry with; the League?” the sonic screamer pressed, leaning forward while lacing her fingers together.
“I mean, a little, but no,” Casey admitted, eyes darting back and forth as if panicked for some reason. “And it’s not anyone on the team either.”
“Then who, Casey?” Canary said in a firm tone. “Who is making you so angry?”
The white-haired girl growled, letting a burst of green energy fire from her palm at the bulletproof glass as she screamed.

“I’m angry at myself!”
