To be honest, I just grabbed what I had lying around.
Luckily I still have this junk lying around... Faber~Castell PITT artist pens, Prismacolor Markers, a Prang white colored pencil and a Silver Sharpie on Tan Scrapbooking Cardstock.

All I can say is practice, that's what I do.
They say Copics work better than Prisma but I have yet to try them out.
