“…Fox mittens, fox boots, fox scarves…” Elise smiled, waving in emphasis as she listed each item. “There’s a billion and one things you can do with a fox pelt. And make sure it’s a silver one – red clashes with my hair.” There was an audible disgruntled snort from under her. Lavena seemed anything but amused by this endeavour. Her handler didn’t even seem to notice as they ventured deeper and deeper into the forest. Despite it being in the early afternoon, trees seemed to suffocate the light and give an almost ominous aura.

Foxes were cunning prey, ones used to test the mind. There was little threat other than slipping headfirst into the snow. The Tokota felt annoyed at the choice. She already knew she was clever – she didn’t need a fox for that. Instead she felt the choice was made out of safety – that Elise felt she was unable to handle a more formidable foe.

A scent distracted the Tokota, stopping her instantly. Her head turned right, eyes focusing on what appeared to be a young stag. Even Elise froze, knowing exactly what would happen next, and that she was almost powerless to stop it.

“But my fox scarf…” she whined protesting.

I'm fairly happy about how this one turned out I wanted to do something focusing on the prey, and I had a lot of fun playing with styles (although next time I think I'd use the sharper style in the foreground, and the softer in the back). I'm also super thrilled to get my first RoF done DDD (I thought it'd never happen!)
