Description Edit -
Thanks for the tips and help using the curves and contrast options on my sketches
It looks so awesome now!! I’ll definitely use these settings more in the future

-------------------------
I need a better title

Trying a new art style
Realistic anthro art
Believe me it’s not easy lol
But extremely fun and I love the challenge

And of coarse I was totally inspired by these awesome artists

I freakin' love these things. I almost made my fursona one but I opted for the quagga instead.

They've always been my favorite hooved critters. I used to have a anthro character of a sable antelope...who was best friends with a dolphin anthro...for some reason. I dunno LONG time ago.

Hey I have a dolphin anthro too
Ahh...Somewhere lol

That’s a anthro type you don't really see
are the dolphins and sharks
I think it might be because of the mer-fandom

Yeh. For a brief time, I had an Orca named Micah as my 'fursona'...but I couldn't decide on anything for him/her and ditched the idea. I miss my old jackal fursona but everyone loves Javier so I might keep him lol.

Man you have cool fursona ideas!
My first one was a yellow/orange wolf
Then, wanting to sand out from the crowd, I got myself a blue leopard with gemsbuck markings (old account)
but then I got a huge interest in quaggas after seeing a program on TV about a The Quagga Project here in SA
So I got the idea for Kihara
I draw her more than any of my old fursonas
So I think she’ll stick

Still not sure if Javier is going to stick with me, but so far so good lol.

I hope he’ll stick
Cause he’s an awesome character
And anyway I think he’ll kick your @ss if you even just think about dumping him
lol

This is amazing - I really like the regal feel you have given the sable. And the piercing...

Is the original this light? Some of the amazing detail is difficult to see at first at this contrast level?

Thank you
I love piercings
not on myself of cause but I love to give my characters a couple of them

*sigh* it's my scanner
it sometimes eats the details
for some reason
I tried the contras stuff on PhotoShop but it doesn’t really help
*sigh*

I find playing with the GIMP 'curves' option allows me to manage contrast (or gamma, I think it is called when you do it that way) in a finely controlled fashion. I don't know what the PS option is, but it was quite easy to get a sharp and contrasty image of this. If you like, I can post a couple of scraps with the result and a screen shot of what I used in GIMP?

Please do! Love to see them!

Gamma and curves you say
I think there is a option like that on PS that I never used before
I'll try it tonight!
Thanks

Hi Irenee,

I have put up two scraps here - I guessed at the contrast levels - they also seem to change a little in the way dA processes the jpegs
GIMP:

I never put a link to you on the notes in my scrap! I'll go back and edit it!

Enjoy. If you don't have GIMP, its a free 15MB download, but I'm sure PS can do this somewhere - just I can't tell you where!
