With every passing year, I understand less and less how to format this meme.

So yeah, we're back with this! I don't really do this consistently, but I am doing it! So we're good. We good? We good.

As I'm certain I've said before, I sort of wish that I choose a different drawing to redo, since it doesn't really let me show how I've improved facial expressions or more complex anatomy, but it was my first post, so it's what I gotta redo.

I'm not really sure how much I've improved since last year, or at least there's nothing notably drastic. I was actually pretty happy with the shapes of the character shading last time, but I didn't really like the look of the skirt itself. It looked a bit too round, I guess? And the look of the legs was a bit off to me. Actually the whole anatomy felt a bit too thin and angular for me. I think this time around I fixed that more, but the legs aren't quite the same width, and look a bit big compared to the torso (the shape of the hair, while I like, also gives off the impression that the head is a little too large imo). I tightened up the pose a bit too, which I think I like a little more. Looks a bit mroe natural to me.
I'm a lot happier with the background this time. I think the tree has a better shape to it, though maybe making the leaves more structured around the branches (like last year) might've been a nice idea. I think the shading on the background is a lot better too. I could definitely see how someone would think the grass is over shaded, but idk, it's not bad. I think my lighting is a lot better overall too. I think the place where the character is standing looks a bit flat though, could probably add some more grass around her feet next time.
Random point, I actually had a hard time getting the colors in the sky right? Like, it was hard for me to get it to the right level of gray, and to make the yellows blend into the blue. But I'm not unhappy with how it turned out.

So yeah, another year come and gone on here. I haven't posted as much lately, which I already mentioned a few weeks ago. But hopefully I can post more consistently again in 2021. I also hope to finish at least one animatic this year, but eh, lazy lol.
