Hey, so did I ever mention that I love PortEng? Probably not, I'm not a very shippy person in general. However I do make a special exception for PortEng, which is a ship I happen to find great as either platonic or romantic. I see both forms working really well. Honestly as a BrOTP, this ship is just downright precious.

I really like the idea that England's first friend would be Portugal. England had been friendly with others in the British Isles, but they were all part of this massive network of family members. He had never met someone outside of this network, someone who was almost a complete stranger to him, and discovering that he shared a lot of things in common with said stranger. I don't know a lot of Portugal's history, so if there's anyone out there who loves PortEng as much as I do and has some headcanons about the ship or just Portugal on his own... I'm all ears. owo
