Description
It was the end of another wonderful day of studying together as Queen Luna pulled Moonstone into a hug. "Goodnight. You are my most loyal student; we see you as another one of our daughters. Please continue your stellar studying."
Moonstone smiled up at Luna with admiration. "Thank you, Your Highness. Honestly, you're like a third mother to me! I'm so glad I'm your student and I will do my very best for you!"
Firefly looked around the corner at them and scowled before sulking down the hallway.
Luna swiftly planted a kiss on her forehead before curtsying to bid her adieu. She began walking down the hall to her night post where she could admire the moon's beautiful glow. On her way, she spotted her daughter.
"Hello there, my love.”
Firefly ducked away. "Yo.”
Luna used her magic to grab Firefly by the tail. "What is the matter?"
"Nothing!” Firefly yanked her tail away. “I’m chill. Go have fun with your OTHER daughter."
Luna sighed, realizing that she had just overheard her conversation with her student. "Firefly, Moonstone is like a daughter to me. I love her too, but I shall never love her as much as I love you. You are my REAL daughter!"
Firefly shrugged. “Okay. Cool.”
The alicorn stopped her daughter from leaving again, turning her around to look her in the eye. “Dear, does it bother you when I spend time with her?”
”No...” Firefly shifted her gaze.
“Are you sure?” Luna asked, not buying it.
”I get it, Mom, she’s your student and shit. Of course you gotta spend more time with her.” But her brows furrowed as she said this.
Luna opened her mouth to speak, but paused. She really had been devoting most of her time to Moonstone lately. And while it was important work, she couldn’t deny that maybe she’d been neglecting her family a bit.
”Maybe so, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have time for you. She isn’t here now, what do you say we watch the stars together?”
Firefly perked up. “Really?”
Luna nodded. “I’d love to spend an evening with my daughter.”
The changeling mare grinned and trotted after her. “Great! Hey, I can show you that constellation I found that looks like a giant di-“
”No,” Luna stopped her with a good natured smile.
“Oh, come on!” Firefly protested, grinning herself.
With that, mother and daughter went laughing down the castle halls, ready for a night of much-needed bonding time.
