Awww! She looks lovely in that lighting! And, yeah, blue does look good on her. (Though so does red. )

Thank you for this!

Glad you like! Unfortunately, she and Aravi have parted ways for now. Aravi found Kharjo...

Haha, it's all good. Aravi needs time with her man, anyway.

I'm thinking of having Jenna take up steward duties at Lakeview manor when we get it built. And use my mod to park Erik there too. To "help."

LadyMetaRose In reply to KingCoin [2014-08-04 03:10:52 +0000 UTC]

Awesome! Yep, she can be a steward, so I'm sure she'd be happy to be Aravi's. And I'm sure she wouldn't mind Erik's company, either.

LadyMetaRose In reply to KingCoin [2014-08-04 15:18:34 +0000 UTC]

Haha, well, if Erik was around, I'm sure she'll be fine. Then they can fend off would-be home wreckers (dragons, bandits, giants, etc.) Maybe they go off on their own adventures while Aravi is away.

They'd have fun causing trouble. They go off on an adventure, Aravi and Kharjo come back. They're not there. They as Rayya, she doesn't know. They start worrying something bad happened. Then around dusk, they come waltzing back to Lakeview Manor like nothing happened.

LadyMetaRose In reply to KingCoin [2014-08-05 03:10:31 +0000 UTC]

I think she might regret hiring Jenna as her steward and Erik as... whatever position he's in.

Nah, they might cause trouble every once in a while (since both need to roam every now and again), but otherwise, they'll protect Aravi's homestead just fine. They both have a a strong sense of duty and honor.

KingCoin In reply to LadyMetaRose [2014-08-05 03:12:53 +0000 UTC]

Pshhh, I was enjoying where this was going. I'm sure Aravi would expect some trouble from those two.

I feel bad for Aravi's Morthal housecarl. He's living in a dinky cabin, in the middle of nowhere, alone.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyMetaRose In reply to KingCoin [2014-08-05 03:29:43 +0000 UTC]

Hahaha! Well then, let's continue!

Jenna: "WE PROMISE TO CLEAN IT UP!!!!
Erik: "But first, can we get some help... PLEASE?!?!??!"

Oh, Valdimar? I heard he can be a real pain to spouses. But he usually stays around the fish hatchery in my PS3 save. Even though Erik's my steward (not spouse, because no mods), I really wish he and Valdimar would get into it! I want to see what happens!

Hmm... not sure who I feel more sorry for. Aravi or Rayya. Since she has to deal with Jenna and Erik all of the time!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KingCoin In reply to LadyMetaRose [2014-08-05 03:56:12 +0000 UTC]

I had to google Rayya. I've never actually seen her! I guess Aravi's always taken the land the jarl offers and never came back! He's kind of sleazy, so Aravi avoids him.

So Jenna would marry Erik if she could?

Aravi and Kharjo never officially married. They just sort of grew together and then... well you know what happens. I assume a Khajiit marriage ceremony would be different from that of a Nord anyways.

Aravi: *sigh* *Summons storm atronach* GET INSIDE!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyMetaRose In reply to KingCoin [2014-08-05 04:24:04 +0000 UTC]

Haha, even though Jenna is a Thane of Falkreath, the Jarl's still mad at her for killing all of his guards, so she doesn't get Rayya or to buy a homestead. (I think I glitched the game on the PS3. Since I'm able to get the housecarls and homesteads in Hjaalmarsch and the Pale). But, I really don't blame Aravi for not looking back after buying the land. That jarl is really sleazy.

Well, before I found out Erik wasn't marriageable without mods, Jenna was looking for a husband, so when I came across an NPC named Erik, I was like, "Whoo! Let's go for him!" (Since my then fiance, now husband's named Erik). Well, as you can imagine, things didn't turn out so well. But! Jenna wasn't going to waste a trip to Rorikstead so she decided to take him on as her follower. And, I think she fell more in love with him (And they really do work well together!)... but now she suffers from a "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" mentality. So, even though I have Skyrim on the PC, I'm not entirely sure if I'll go through with it. We'll see. I'm sure curiosity will get the better of me gamewise. It terms of the comic, I guess we'll have to see what happens.

I would imagine so. After reading some Khajiit lore, it might even be that only the rich or important Khajiit get officially married. The rest just claim mates (I know. Where's the romance?) I don't know for sure. Khajiit are quite mysterious.

Jenna & Erik: "Yes, ma'am! Thank you, ma'am!"

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KingCoin In reply to LadyMetaRose [2014-08-05 05:14:01 +0000 UTC]

Aravi: What? You two think you're going to sit down with a mead? Help me hold the door!!

It's not glitched, each hold tracks crime separately. Though, with a slaughter like that, you would think that there would be word reaching the other jarls. Lakeview is Aravi's favorite, its probably the warmest one there! And then there's swimming in the lake. Just too bad its under one of the worst jarls in the game.

It took Aravi a long time and a catastrophic event to decide she was for Kharjo.

Ha! Well even if that's the case, it can still be romantic without an official ceremony. Maybe they throw a party instead?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyMetaRose In reply to KingCoin [2014-08-05 05:27:25 +0000 UTC]

Jenna: Okay, right there!
Erik: Um... it's there enough room for me? I mean, I'd love to help...
Jenna: Get your happy Nord butt over here and help!!

Well I know that. I just didn't know I could lose my Thane-dom. Though, even in game, I have head canon that Jenerik are not well liked in Falkreath, but are loved in Hjaalmarsh, so they decide to get a homestead there. Plus.. fish!

That's so sweet. Sometimes, they just grow on you.

I think at this point, something similar is going to have to happen to get Jenna out of her, "Woe is me, there's no way a Nord could ever take me as I am" schtick. *rolls eyes*

Jenna knows a few guys. She'd be happy to help plan Aravi and Kharjo's wedding party!

KingCoin In reply to LadyMetaRose [2014-08-05 14:55:49 +0000 UTC]

LOL, Jenna walks into Aravi's house and says "I like what you've done with the place."

Hahaha Jenna. I guess sometimes it takes a near death experience to figure out what's important. Aravi at least knew she wanted to take that step, but was afraid. And then was even more afraid that if she waited it wouldn't happen.

It'd be a very late party, but why the heck not?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyMetaRose In reply to KingCoin [2014-08-06 04:06:29 +0000 UTC]

Haha! "Can you... uh... cover the goat heads?"

Is there anything special about Aravi's homestead?

Well, if it makes Jenna feel any better, due to how she reacts to certain situations, Erik's not really willing to take that leap of faith, either. Ah, stalemates.

Awww. Sounds like torture for Aravi. Such a gentle soul.

Haha, okay!  What's Aravi's favourite food?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KingCoin In reply to LadyMetaRose [2014-08-06 04:39:37 +0000 UTC]

Bleh, Aravi never hangs up the remains of critters in her house. It's always the stewards that buy them and hang them.

Nothing too exciting. She gets the greenhouse, the library, and the storage room. Not that she needs the storage, but because of the porch that overlooks the lake. She's had a couple of intoxicated mage-y guests once toss fireballs over the lake from the porch.

Food... now that's something I haven't thought of a lot. She grew up in Morrowind, but she does not like the bugs they serve there. She hasn't been in Elsweyr or if she was, it was when she was very little. She lived in Cyrodiil for the largest chunk of her adult life.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyMetaRose In reply to KingCoin [2014-08-06 04:47:16 +0000 UTC]

Then Jenna's not buying/making any goat heads.

Hahahaha! I'm sure Jenna would love to clean up after that mess.

Jenna: "Uh, Erik? Can you help me clean this up? These mages really left a mess."
Erik: "I hate wizards and their spells..."
Jenna: "I know, I know! But you can't clean things up with an axe, okay?"
Erik: "Fine! Hand me the broom."
Aravi: "Pffrft. They act like an old married couple, don't they, Kharjo?"
Kharjo: "This one thinks so."

Does she like sweets?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KingCoin In reply to LadyMetaRose [2014-08-06 04:55:02 +0000 UTC]

Lol. They are very good friends, I think Erik and Jenna would get along with the one responsible for the fireballs. He's a big Nord battle mage, though he probably would hit on Jenna. She can just show her claws and threaten his 'lads' and there won't be a repeat.

What Khajiit doesn't like sweets?

Also what does Jenna eat? What's her home like?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyMetaRose In reply to KingCoin [2014-08-06 05:09:48 +0000 UTC]

Hahahaha! He sounds like a sweetheart. Though I know of another person who wouldn't approve of him hitting on Jenna.

Actually! Degra, DegraZul 's OC. That is currently the only Khajiit I know who doesn't like sweets.

Jenna's favourite foods are sweet rolls and salmon (both cooked and raw). She also likes a good hearty meal of venison and potatoes, or venison stew. And though she would never kill a pet or follower, she does like the taste of dog meat.

Winstad Manor is pretty well decked out with everything, including the cellar. Haha! Well, I don't want to give away one thing, but let's say she does have a wing with a porch.  She also has an alchemy lab and a kitchen. She was going to opt for an armory instead, but her steward (Erik) made a very convincing argument as to why she should go for the kitchen over the armory. (Though, between you and me, I think it's because he has a hobby that involves the kitchen. )

KingCoin In reply to LadyMetaRose [2014-08-06 14:28:12 +0000 UTC]

Heh, that's the way he is. Otherwise he's jovial. Now that other person, is it Erik?

Somebody has to be different. Aravi doesn't seem to dislike anything. She seems to like breads more than meats and fish.

Aravi likes sweetrolls too, but gets them infrequently. I don't think she's ever tried dog.

Something about her house is so special  you can't tell me? Make some special modifications to the house??

Erik's a cook? Well I know who's going to be preparing food after the bandit army is dealt with. But by now there's probably a pile of them in front of the door and they are now trying to get in through the windows! Hopefully they don't know fire magic.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyMetaRose In reply to KingCoin [2014-08-06 14:37:00 +0000 UTC]

Maaaaaayyyyyyyybeeeeeeee. Though he also might laugh at Jenna for getting hit on. Depends on his mood and whether or not he perceives this friend as a real threat. I think overall he'd be more worried about Kharjo hitting on Jenna (which I would know he'd never do).

Haha, of course! Aravi seems pretty open-minded to a lot of things.

Nah, it's just a plot point I don't want to reveal yet and by telling you what the wing is, then I think it might give away something. Even though I did give away Erik's secret about him cooking AND baking. I figured he picked it up when his father was training him on being an innkeeper. He actually likes baking. and yep! He'd be willing to cook for everyone after the bandit army is dealt with!

Haha! Well, Jenna preferred frost magic and shouts, so she'll freeze them in their tracks.

KingCoin In reply to LadyMetaRose [2014-08-06 15:34:13 +0000 UTC]

Ooooooh. So he dooooess have the hots for her. Haha.

Kharjo's been a gentleman so far. He took the news that she was a werewolf hard, but considering the way he found out... torn apart vampires and Aravi naked in a huge pool of blood and filth. Aravi was bad about sharing important details about herself in the beginning.

Oh Jenna has a torture chamber!!!! Ahhhh! She's the dark brotherhood listener!!!

To be fair, I always imagined Erik being able to cook. Surely his dad would have made him do that working at the inn?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyMetaRose In reply to KingCoin [2014-08-07 01:18:17 +0000 UTC]

Haha. Yeah, he does. He's just in the awkward position of trying to figure out what Jenna needs more. A friend or something more. I guess he doesn't realize yet that he can be both.

Awww! He sounds like such a sweetheart. Well, I really think most Khajiit have that thing about revealing important things about themselves. They are a secretive lot. I wonder if Kharjo has any secrets.

Hahaha, yes!!!!! Since she loves hearing the screams of her victims!!!!

Yeah, I think we agree on that. I think the coolest thing is in Hearthfire, he actually does operate the oven for baking. It's pretty awesome! Too bad he actually doesn't make anything. (I wish NPCs could craft things. That'd be sooooo coool!)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KingCoin In reply to LadyMetaRose [2014-08-07 02:50:18 +0000 UTC]

Ahhh poor Erik and Jenna. They'll figure it out.

Well, he did mention he went to prison for gambling. Perhaps it was something else? It's hard to imagine him being up to anything really nefarious, being a big, fuzzy, cheerful, Khajiit. Hmmm... Now I feel like there needs to be something...

I want to know how Jenna's both a warrior for the Companions and a Nightingale. Seems like a heck of a double life!

I thought about making NPCs craft. I decided it would be a heck of a lot of scripting.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyMetaRose In reply to KingCoin [2014-08-07 03:06:45 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, they will. Hopefully before it's too late.

Haha! Poor Kharjo! I agree, he's too sweet to have anything too nefarious.

Well, essentially, Jenna just has a hard time saying "No" to people who say they need help. And, well, when Brynjolf challenged her to lockpick something, she had to take the challenge since her pride was on the line. The rest will be explained in Season 3 Episode 4. She definitely takes her Companion duties more seriously than her Nightingale/Thieves Guild duties.

(The truth of the matter is, I just never thought I would actually make this into a story, so Jenna joined all of the factions because I'm an achievement wh*re.  But, when I did come up with the story, I thought I would be compromising her character if I didn't include all of it, the good and the bad).

I bet it would be! But it would be cool!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KingCoin In reply to LadyMetaRose [2014-08-07 03:23:29 +0000 UTC]

Did you do the Dark Brotherhood with her? In my mind, if that's officially part of her story, then Jenna's an evil character.

I remember when Brynjolf approached Aravi, she told him to take a hike (in more explicit terms).

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

LadyMetaRose In reply to KingCoin [2014-08-07 12:02:04 +0000 UTC]

Overnight, I was trying to remember my thought process regarding joining the Dark Brotherhood, and I remember that I justified it as "killing is killing. Jarls have me kill bandits and giants and stuff, what's the difference here?" So, that was probably Jenna's original thought process, but as she continued on, she realized there was a HUGE, soul-crushing difference. After completing the questline, she's never been back and ignores the Night Mother's calls. Like I said before, she's not proud of what she's done. But I still don't feel right changing how I played her in the game to make her into a purely "good" person (even though that what she wants to be now that she's figured out how the world works). I feel I/she has to earn it after what I/she has done.

(Yes, this is eating me up inside, okay? )

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KingCoin In reply to LadyMetaRose [2014-08-07 13:51:20 +0000 UTC]

Here's my reasoning for dividing up fun and story:

How does a basically good character decide that murder is ok? How do you go from, say saving a town from a dragon attack, to killing them for money? Now I've seen a lot of people do mental acrobatics to try to justify what their characters do, but premeditated murder is a hell of a line to cross.

And I know that Bethesda makes a lot (not all) of the people you kill in the game to pretty much deserve death, but 'they deserve it' is not justification.

I haven't actually played either the Thieves' Guild or the Dark Brotherhood because doing so with Aravi felt too wrong. She actually accidently killed someone once and she beat herself up about it for a long time, to the point where she took terrible risks to her own safety to be absolutely sure that someone was an enemy.

Anyways, putting it in the past is a good way of handling it if you are determined to keep it. I would honestly have a difficult time enjoying her story if she was still an active member of that particular guild.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyMetaRose In reply to KingCoin [2014-08-07 14:13:12 +0000 UTC]

Definitely. I do agree with you on that. And after playing, I really regretted making those choices. How can you be both a hero and a villain at the same time? I can make excuses and do mental acrobatics all day and it still wouldn't make it "right."

It seems like you already had a firm plan for Aravi before playing her. Which is good.

To me, it makes it more interesting for Jenna to have to later address her pre-Erik actions/affiliations. Since, I was never fully comfortable with the TG or DB (but I did them anyway for the experience), I really like that Jenna tries to make up for her mistakes later. Or at least acknowledges that what she did was wrong and is trying to make things right. Yeah, she's not active in it anymore at all. It was pretty soul-crushing for her.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KingCoin In reply to LadyMetaRose [2014-08-07 17:55:22 +0000 UTC]

Yay! Not that she had her soul crushed, but that she's trying to make amends.

Aravi was a character in Oblivion for 1 - 2 years before Skyrim came out. I develop characters slowly, so when Skyrim came out I was loath to abandon her. I just kinda ignored the whole 200 year jump. She walked into the Jerall mountains and woke up in an Imperial prison cart.

Really glad you discussed this with me. I know when it comes to OCs its easy to get really protective of them. And I'm rigid when it comes to the stories I enjoy. When I get to like a character, and then learn that they are out killing people for money or what have you, I feel almost betrayed by them. It's silly but it legitimately makes me dislike a story.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyMetaRose In reply to KingCoin [2014-08-07 20:49:38 +0000 UTC]

Haha, I didn't think you meant the soul-crushing part.

Lucky.

No, it's good! I'm glad we had this discussion, as well. I figure better now than when I do reveal it. But hey, I completely understand your point of view. It can be really jarring. And make you think, "Wow! How long has this character been fooling me?"

LadyMetaRose In reply to KingCoin [2014-08-08 02:26:21 +0000 UTC]

In the comic, it's definitely Unrelenting Force. Though I think she also finds Ice Form very useful (and she does like frost magic).

Aravi?

KingCoin In reply to LadyMetaRose [2014-08-08 02:38:04 +0000 UTC]

For a long time she really liked Fire breath (because hey, breathing frickin fire) but one that is far more useful to her is Become Ethereal.  Whirlwind sprint is another that is most useful. With both of those shouts, she gets to mages and archers with her swords.

Aravi's earrings are enchanted with shout time reduction!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyMetaRose In reply to KingCoin [2014-08-08 02:43:08 +0000 UTC]

Haha, awesome! Jenna has used Whirlwind Sprint for defense and getting places, but she's only used Become Ethereal once because she decided she wanted to jump off of a really high tower. Maybe she'll have to give Aravi's tactics a go. She's always interested in seeing how other warriors fight.

Really? That's cool! Is that a mod?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KingCoin In reply to LadyMetaRose [2014-08-08 03:11:34 +0000 UTC]

Aravi's tactics reflect her lack of defence, so Jenna might not need to use them in that way.

Probably two mods. I have one that makes earrings craftable, and then another that removes a lot of the slot restrictions on enchantments.
