*Meanwhile in the Obsidian Ash Zone*
[Just-Kon, Void, Dying Wish, Kermit, Swag, Zenith, Rock, and Bubble walk through the hellish-like landscape. There are active volcanoes everywhere, as well as a bunch of fire and lava. Void, Dying Wish, Kermit, and Swag had to borrow some of the Royal Guard’s armor for fire protection, except for the three siblings.]
Just-Kon: “Beware, guys. There’s active volcanoes all over the place.”
Dying Wish: “Wait, did you say-”
[A volcano in the distance spews out lava with a massive explosion. The ground shook as the soundwaves echoed throughout. Everyone is startled.]
Dying Wish (nervous): “Okay, I see what you mean now.”
Kermit: “Why would people even want to live here? Look at this place! It’s like we’re standing in the middle of Hell!”
Just-Kon: “That’s why this is one of the least populated areas on the island. No creature can survive here, unless they’re immune to fire.”
Kermit: “Well obviously!”
Swag: "Hey, look up there!" *points at something on one of the volcanoes*
[Lights are flashing from the volcano.]
Void: "What is that?"
Just-Kon: "I don't know. Does anyone have a pair of binoculars?"
Zenith: *picks up a crystal he finds on the ground* ; *pulls out a metal tube he found earlier and sticks the crystal inside it* ; *looks through the tube like a spyglass*
[As Zenith looks at the lights on the volcano, he can see what is causing them. There in the distance is a little knight fighting a dragonfly in volcanic armor with a molten lance in its hand. The knight’s head is shaped like a triceratops skull, with a maroon cloak on their body and a fossilized scythe in their hand. Sparks ignite as the two weapons clash against each other.]
Zenith: *stops looking through the spyglass* “...It’s our brother, Ash!...”
Just-Kon: “Wait, what?” *looks down at Zenith and sees the spyglass in his hands* “Can I please see that?” *takes the spyglass and quickly looks through it* “Oh my god, you’re right! And he’s fighting Aaron, the Inferno Knight!” *quickly gives the spyglass back to Zenith*
Kermit: “Are we seriously going on that volcano after you just said they are all active here?”
Just-Kon: “Yes, we have to!”
Kermit: “Have you lost your mind!?!?”
Zenith: “...Please, our brother needs us!...”
Just-Kon: “Just try to kill him as fast as you can!” *opens a portal to the volcano*
[They all run through the portal. On the volcano, Ash is pinned to the ground trying to protect himself from Aaron’s lance.]
Void: *fires a blast of black fire at Aaron*
Aaron: *loses control of his flight, but quickly recovers* ; *stares the group with toxic green eyes*
Dying Wish: “He’s infected!?!?”
Kermit: “It should be obvious, you dumbass! Almost every single one we encountered has been infected!”
Aaron: *swoops down at Void*
Just-Kon: “Look out!”
[Everyone jumps out of the way. Void teleports away before the lance could impale him.]
Aaron: *turns around*
Just-Kon: *gets up and activates his wings* ; *flies up to Aaron and tries to strike him with his sword*
Aaron: *blocks the sword with his lance*
[The two duel at each other. Sparks flash as their weapons hit against each other.]
Bubble: *runs to Ash and helps him up* “...Hey, brother. Are you alright?...”
Ash: “...Bubble! There you are!...”
Zenith: “...Ash, over here!...”
Ash: “...Zenith, what’s going on?...”
Zenith: “...That’s a long story! Come on, these guys need help!...”
Aaron: *stuns Just-Kon with a fireball and then hits him into the side of the volcano*
[Swag and Kermit pull out their guns and start shooting at Aaron.]
Aaron: *switches his attention to Swag and Kermit and dives towards them*
Zenith: *leaps underneath Aaron and conjures a howling scream*
Aaron: *launched upward by the scream* ; *looks down and dives to the ground, creating a shockwave of fire as he lands*
[Everyone jumps over the wall of fire as it spreads outward.]
Aaron: *swings at Zenith*
Zenith: *deflects the lance with his nail*
Dying Wish: *drinks a victorious tortoise* ; *pulls out his sword and helps Zenith*
Void: *teleports behind Aaron and slashes his back*
Aaron: *turns around and breathes fire at him*
Void: *teleports away*
Swag: *pulls out his hammer and tries to swing at Aaron*
Aaron: *deflects the hammer several times*
Kermit: *impales his very sharp tongue into Aaron, but immediately retracts it after he burns it* “Ow my tongue, it burns!” *drinks a quick heal*
Ash: *shoots a fireball at Aaron and slashes him with his scythe*
Rock: *uses Medusa’s Curse*
Aaron: *shields his eyes and then grabs Rock*
Rock: *slashes Aaron in the face with his sickle*
Aaron: *drops Rock and covers his face*
Rock: *charge attacks Aaron*
Aaron: *falls to his knees*
Bubble: *summons explosive bubbles after Aaron*
Aaron: *flies away from the bubbles as the blow up*
[Kermit and Swag shoot at Aaron again.]
Aaron: *gets ready to dive*
Just-Kon: *flies out from the crater and great slashes Aaron*
Aaron: *crashes to the ground*
Void: “Just-Kon, get down here!”
Just-Kon: *lands* “What is it, Void?”
Void: “Zenith needs you.”
Zenith: “...Drop me above Aaron. I have something that could finish him…”
Just-Kon: “Really? What is it?”
Zenith: “...You’ll see. Now carry me…”
[Just-Kon carries Zenith up in the air.]
Aaron: *flies up to Just-Kon from underneath*
Zenith: “...Now!...”
Just-Kon: *drops Zenith*
Zenith: *emits a white corona and divebombs Aaron, killing him*
[Everyone celebrates as the Inferno Knight is defeated.]
Just-Kon: *lands*
Bubble: “...Zenith, that was incredible!...”
Ash: “...So, you learned a new spell…”
Zenith: “...Yes I did, brother…”
Aaron: *wakes up no longer infected* “Ugh, my head!”
Just-Kon: “Aaron!”
Aaron: “Your highness? What are you doing here?”
Just-Kon: “No time to explain, the evacuation plan is in effect!”
Aaron: “What? Why?”
[The ground starts to shake as the volcano starts bubbling.]
Aaron: “Oh no, the volcano is about to erupt! You need to get out of here, now!”
Just-Kon: *opens a portal to the evacuation camp* “Go through this portal! The others are waiting for you! They’ll tell you what’s going on!”
Aaron: *nods* “Stay safe!” *runs through the portal as it closes*
Just-Kon: *quickly opens a portal back to the palace* “Everyone, this way!”
[Everyone quickly escapes into the portal. As it closes behind them, the volcano explodes.]
Dying Wish: “Whew! That was close!”
Just-Kon: “Is everyone here?”
[As they look around, they notice something strange. A toxic green tint is overlaying the city.]
Void: *sees something strange with the palace* “Uhhh, Just-Kon?”
Just-Kon: “What?” *looks at the palace* ; *gasps*
[There are toxic green growths pulsing from the palace.]
Haydn: “Just-Kon!”
Just-Kon: *looks to the right and sees Haydn and his group* “Haydn!” *runs over to him*
Void: *sees Voita* “Voita!?!?”
Voita: “Void!” *teleports up to him and hugs him*
Galaxy: “Just-Kon, there you are!”
Just-Kon: “Galaxy! You’re here too!”
Swag: *sees Galaxy* “Oh, hey!”
Galaxy: “It’s good to see you too, Swag.”
HF: “Just-Kon, you’re back!” *has bandages wrapped around her arm*
Just-Kon: “HF, what happened to you? Where’s Jade?”
Jade: *pops her head up while wrapped around HF’s shoulder*
Just-Kon: “Oh.” *sees Velvet* “Wait, who is this?”
Haydn: “Oh, this is Velvet. We found her wandering alone in the forest. She’s been here for a thousand years.”
Velvet: “Hi.”
Just-Kon: *sees the portal gauntlet on Haydn’s hand* “Wait, where did you get that?”
Haydn: “Oh, this? Voita found it in an abandoned cabin back in the Frostbite Zone.”
Just-Kon: “Oh.”
Haydn: “Do you want it back?”
Dr. Red: *runs in panic* “Your highness! Thank goodness you’re here!”
Just-Kon: “Dr. Red, what’s going on?”
Dr. Red: “It’s Pederin! He came and raided the palace! He took one of the shadownite pickaxes! I tried to stop him, but then he injected a syringe into the ground and….and…..”
Just-Kon: “Wait, Pederin was here!?!?”
Haydn: “Apparently so. When we arrived, everyone there was infected, including Dr. Red. She sprayed acid at HF.”
Dr. Red: “Your highness, I’ve studied the samples y’all collected. This evolution is actually something else. It’s the same infection, but it appears to be some kind of prototype version that he decided not to use until now.”
Just-Kon: “A prototype version?”
Void: “Wait! Shadeis! What happened to Shadeis?”
Dr. Red: “He escaped!”
Just-Kon: “What did you say!?!?”
Voita: “I’m afraid it’s true. When we arrived, his cell was empty.”
Just-Kon: “Where is Pederin now?”
Dr. Red: “He’s probably heading for the Ender Crystal Heart! You need to get down to the caverns, hurry!”
[A loud clang echoes across the island.]
Galaxy: “What was that?”
Just-Kon: “Oh no, Pederin’s breaking open the Ender Crystal Heart!”
