I just have this recollection of all the *metal* lighting fixtures melting in that episode...which says something about the temperature of the heat Mikoto is giving off and the control he has to not, you know, *melt* the marble he's standing on (and consequently fall through the floor), not burn his clothes, and his ability to keep the heat given off by the flames to a tightly contained space; otherwise the rest of the building's infrastructure would suffer.  I wonder how HOMRA deals with the oxygen requirements for their flames?  Clearly they're using something similar to fire (gaseous lava? in Mikoto's case) and the oxygen demands for that energy are intense.
