Personality: to nost people they are very stern and edgy. Not friendly. Doesn't speak much. to the few they have trust in, they are actually kind of snarky, witty, and clever.

Dislikes: Disobedient soldiers, water/swimming, Cold Weather, Aalish (the hatred is mutual) they also cant stand closed spaces. They will tolerate being commanded.

Likes: Warmth, Reading, their friend Brig. Gen. Pretorious, and Birds.

Strengths:
- Good with handguns, has a deadly aim
- Skilled with hand to hand combat and knife fighting
- Excellent command (The scariest commanding officer in their regiment, if not the entire New World Republic’s army.)
- Can take an alarming amount of damage without breaking or dying.
- Generally pretty fucking scary.

Weaknesses: (These are completely unknown to anyone working under them... except Hadelyn)
- Keeping their magic pent up physically hurts them
- takes an unholy amount of pain medication
- Magic is unstable, and its power rejects Fawkes' command and body, this has resulted in exactly one catastrophic incident.
- Is under strict control from General Jackson and can't release their magic. Jackson says its for everyone's safety, knowing Fawkes' power is dangerously unstable, but it's actually killing them slowly.
- Doesn't know the limit of the damage they can take, though they certainly aren’t reckless
- Magic power drains Fawkes' energy when used in large amounts, can render Fawkes unconscious. Can also make them, especially combustible/explosive (however this is not a clear and present problem, they have keeping their magic under control down to an art.)
- absolutely ridden with post traumatic stress

- they just really like birds ok
- is really stiff, it’s a little creepy. they look like theyre in pain.
- Aalish just makes them angry, the way she’s so bubbly and really wasn’t fit to be a soldier (mindset wise) and also because Aalish made a dumbass joke (didn’t take Fawkes seriously) while Fawkes was introducing themself to their battalion. This resulted in Aalish being flipped over onto the floor with a knife 0.2 inches from her face and the harshest reprimand she’d ever received from anyone. Fawkes still isn’t over this

spud and I have an amazing character arc planned for them and its really hard to write this description without ruining the story
