Last month I re-watched the entire Batman Beyond series (right before they put it on Netflix!), and it was so much better than I remembered it being as a kid. The art direction, the soundtrack, the writing... it's really just a masterpiece of animation. (If you guys have Netflix, I strongly encourage you to go watch it!) I've been pining to draw Terry McGinnis as Batman since then, and then messaged me and we decided to do a Batman Beyond art jam! Perfect timing!!

I didn't originally intend to color this, but I've been wanting to play around with some new brush settings so that's how this happened! Just a quick paint, although I'm pretty pleased with it. c: I couldn't decide between uploading it with the supa-fast BG or just on white. Anyway! I'm so glad I got to draw something again, it's been too long!

Heavily inspired by Dustin Nguyen's covers of Batman Beyond Unlimited.. outside of animation, I think he draws Terry the best!

Terry McGinnisΒ is one of my favorite characters and awesome image BTW.

I'm glad I keep the Batman Beyond DVD and collected the comic series.

Wahaha! I think this is actually the very first Batman Beyond thing I've ever done??? I'm glad you like it! My gosh, this was over a year ago? Batman Beyond has taken over my life for over a whole year??

Even so, it turned out absolutely beautifully! You have a gift for making Terry an absolute babe in your art, you know. It cannot be denied. And hey, it's a year well-spent, no? :3 After all, there's something fun about Batman Beyond on the surface, and something far deeper to connect with beyond that surface level.

a lil loose but i really like this ,there is a extreme dearth of BB fanart

Beautiful work, I can see the Dustin Nguyen influence there (he's got such a wonderful style). Love how you've emphasized Terry's lean frame, and the shading is gorgeous.

Wow, thank you so much for the in depth comment! I feel that Terry's mask doesn't translate so well from animation to comics because in the show, the lighting on his mask stays the same no matter where he is, but in the comics, artists use correct light sources which makes the mask look a little weird.. but Dustin Nguyen has figured out how to do it! That's why I just love his Batman Beyond covers so much!

You're very welcome, and I think you've made a very good observation with the way Terry's mask is lit, and now that you've mentioned it, I think Dustin Nguyen does do a really good job with it!

Aww, it's only because I totally ignored everything else in my life to draw!! I've been wanting to draw Batman for months, you just gave me a good reason to :3 Now I have to go back to doing the homework I blew off to draw this OTL
