Description For the third challenge of round 6 - Karil's wardrobe. You have seen his undies here: fav.me/dasknif . In addition you can see him using all his elements (and the gag about mind-bending )

There are some interesting and important moments about the clothing in my world.
1. The City of Five Pillars (fav.me/d9witts ) where Karil lives is a mixture of Chinese/Japanese and West-European styles AND a bit of Bulgarian (East-European) motifs when it comes to the culture, clothing and buildings. That's why Karil's training clothes look Asian and his extremely official getup is based on the traditional clothing from my country (nosii.run-bg.com/product/%D0%B… ).
2. There is some color-coding for the clothes, BUT it's a lot different than the one in Avatar. Namely:
- Colors for the elements are: pale blue - air, cobalt blue - water, green - earth, orange - fire, purple - mind, black+silver - normal people.
- Uniforms in the elemental colors are used mainly, if not even exclusively, in The City of Five Pillars and there exclusively worn by people working in specific spheres - military, some guilds, some executive positions. In general everyone can wear whatever color they want!
- The color-coded uniforms also represent the level of the element-user - only people that have reached maister-level are allowed tho use clothing entirely in the color of their element. If the mastery-level is lower, the clothing has black motifs and stripes - more black=lower level (NOT to be confused with Karil's official getup - the kid pretends to be normal, so he wears black/silver when needed!)
- Students at the upper levels in the Academy (for explanation see fav.me/dasknif ) wear gray uniforms with elemental badge. After graduation, if they join the military or a guild that requires uniform, their first uniform is black with elemental badge (lowest level of mastery!). ATTENTION! DO NOT CONFUSE maister-level and master! When someone is referred to as air-master for example, he/she can control Air. When the person is called maister, it means that the level of control has reached it's peak. A Supreme-Master DOES NOT automatically mean maister! It means that the person has the potential to control all aspects of his/her element (Air= wind, sound and all kinds of gases even on molecular level).

The snake bracelet is an item Karil inherited from his late parents after an accident when he was 13 (The accident involved him, trying to kill Salep for killing his parents, escaping afterwards and then meeting Yar, who gave him the nose-scar!) The bracelet is connected to the Oracle of Orochi and the Stone of Predestination and serves as protection/recognition charm. The bracelet is ca. 2500 years old!

Karil is my OC, so do not use without permission

Thanks. I wanted to show all his powers and also hint that the colors of the clothes have nothing to do with the Elements. Mind turned out impossible for me to draw, so that's why there is the fifth gag picture .

The cultural mix of clothing is really, really interesting - and I love how you made it all into something that's really your own! The East Asian influence is very clear (especially in his training outfit, which reminds me a whole lot of wushu practice outfits!), and the color schemes are all really worked out and thought through! The details of his outfits - especially the detailed patterns (his summer outfit in particular) and bracelets - all look really nice, and there's a lot to see. His combat outfit looks really cool, as well as functional, which I adore!

I wonder, what kind of materials are used in his combat outfit? (I just really, really like armor XD)

The colors you used all look great together, and the color coded hierarchy is SO COOL. I also love the distinction between master and maister, and I'm very curious about the social dynamics in your world!

The snake bracelet looks amazing, too, and I greatly enjoy how its little head kinda 'peeks' out when Karil wears long-sleeved outfits. Its history is incredibly fascinating (Orochi, ha! ) and I wonder what kind of connection it has to the Stone, as well as its protectional powers.

(Also, Salep killed his parents? Oh gosh! D: That must've been a hard blow on everyone involved! Poor Karil - and Salep! There really must've been no other way to deal with... problems, I guess? D: And Karil was only thirteen- meaning it's only been a year for him, seeing he's currently 14...!)

Well, this story sounds exactly like my cup of tea - elemental bending, martial arts, nice world building, dramatic turns of events...! I am very curious for sure! Can't wait for the other tasks!

As always thanks for the lovely comment .

About the materials for his combat gear - I really haven't thought about them. For the breast-plate the material should be hart and durable but very light. The whole concept of the combat outfit is based on shinobi clothing - maximum flexibility and freedom of movement + robust protection.

About Salep killing Karil's parents, it really is a complicated story. It should be mentioned, that Karil's parents died when he was 6 months old. when Karil met Salep at the age of 13 he had no idea of what had happened. Karil didn't even know who his real parents are - he thought that they were simple healers. His parents, together with Salep and 2 others, were actually Supreme Masters AND in addition to that meisters! (His father Han - Fire, his mother Sella - Earth, Salep is Water and the other two were Air and Mind). Karil learned by accident that Salep killed his parents, but it was only half the truth. The kid tried to avenge his family but luckily failed. He then received a special... item... pearl called the Tear of Shalimar. The tear can store memories and feelings, so Karil relived the moment when his parents were killed by his teacher 13 yaers ago and realized that there was no other way. (Attention! His parents were from the good guys and Salep is also from the good guys. Although the bad guy, The Master, was also involved.). By the way, the red stone on the snake-bracelet is the 2nd Tear of Shalimar, that had a message From Karil's dad .

No problem! The pleasure's all mine~

Ohhhhh - shinobi clothing! It's been a while since I last looked into that! XD I believe historical shinobi armor consisted of light chain mail, and a light-weight harness made of leather or mail (small chains) that was tightly woven together - flexible, but sturdy.

(That being said, I believe most 'known' shinobi armors were actually samurai armors, but then again, it's been years since I last looked into this. Samurai armor usually is made of boiled leather, btw - light, but sturdy, and through certain sewing-methods, it can be made even sturdier (or at least, that's what my sensei once said)). Perhaps this will give you some ideas?

Oh wow. The story you just described to me makes it even more tragic, actually! D: (I wonder if The Master has something to do with the other two Supreme Masters/meisters, too...! I really wonder about the identity of The Master, actually! XD)
How did Salep and Karil meet? It must've been so hard on Salep to realize he'd left his friends' kid all alone - and then Karil becoming overwhelmed with emotion and intent on revenge...! Luckily he wasn't able to pull it off, but still. The emotional strain still is there. It makes for a very complex and intriguing relationship for sure.

The Tear of Shalimar (LOVE the name, btw!) sounds really interesting, and seems to hold mysterious yet strong powers. I suppose they're connected to The Stone of Predestination? Such interesting concepts! (And such a tragic way to find out how your not-actually-healer parents were killed...! I really feel for poor Karil...)

You've got such a cool story! You're planning on writing a novel? Its concept is really interesting!

WOW, thank you so much about the armor tips! I think I like the leather armor idea most - it fits with my armor design.

By the way, I don't know if I asked, what martial art are you training?

About the question whether the master was involved with the Supreme Masters? Yes. First the five Supreme Masters were: Salep, Han (Karil's dad and Salep's best friend), Sella (karil's mum and Salep's Friend), Ada (Salep's fiancee) and Zuma (Salep's brother). The Master was involved in getting rid of them all. According to Salep's own words, The master single–handedly killed his brother. So thanks to The Master Salep lost his entire family.
Karil and Salep meet accidentally at first. Karil is a big fan of the Supreme masters like all kids in the City (without knowing that Han and Sella are his mum and dad). So the two bumped for the first time at midnight in front of the Three Supreme Master's statue in the City (after the last battle only the bodies of Han, Sela and Ada were found so everyone hoped that Salep and Zuma were alive. Unfortunately that was not entirely true... to some extend). Salep recognized Karil, sins the boy is a spitting image of his mum. The next day they met during Karil's water exam, where an accident with Tari occurred and Salep saved her, reviling to the whole school and lady Hariya (The City lord and Tari's grandma) that he has returned for the first time in 13 years. After Karil's final exam, under the pressure and pleading of lady Hariya (the old lady can be VERY convincing) Salep became Karil's and Tari's private tutor. Since Karil's training had to be kept secret, the boy was... forced to live under the same roof with Salep, so after a while, in addition to their student-teacher relationship, Karil started treating Salep as something between big brother and father...till the moment he learned the truth. Luckily they managed to patch up everything thanks to the Tear of Shalimar.

About the Tear, yes, it has connection to the stone, but not as you might think. Atagan was the big bad guy ca. 3000 years ago. His student Eliasssander made The Stone of Predestination to defeat him. Shalimar was Eliassander's wife/concubine AND Atagan's daughter. At least that's the official story in the legends. The truth... it's so much more frightening  .

And YES! I am writing a novel. Part 1 (260+ pages) is ready, Part 2 is at page 50. Next week I'll start trying with different publishing houses. Hopefully someone will like it  .

Good question. Gold would probably be Supreme General in the military. And probably only for the official uniform. It would be bad to go into battle all shiny .
