I usually choose a shade darker than my darkest shade. It helps to make the lines stand out. I'm glad this helped you out.

This is a great tutorial, it's really helping me out cos I'm new to photoshop 
This might sound like a stupid question but how did you select all of the black lines on Sora? I noticed you used the magic wand tool was it? But I don't know how to use it ....

There are not stupid questions only smart ones
and I'm glad I can help in anyway.
To select you just click the area you want. If you want to get rid of let's say all the white and there are some tricky area's. With the wand tool selected Right click-> and select color range you can move the slider and then select the colored areas.

I think the black lined version looked better than the colored line version. but either way this is pretty neat ^__^

ok yeah I got it! What you can also do after you have your area seleced is go to edit-> fill
