Description was trying to create a Pan character for DI, and she was having a hard time visualizing him, so I was asking her questions about his appearance, and it ended up being all the questions I'd ask if I was trying to draw him, so I figured... hey, might as well! So, this is Pan, who's going by they alias of Daxton Swaine these days. She seems to like it. ^_^

*"Goat" whistles*
I liked Pan before, but, you draw him so well!! And me makes a pretty hot human/mortal. XD

I noticed in a comment below that you suggested the Percy Jackson Series to someone. Do you read it?

I've read all but the last book of the original series, but it and the new series are on my list of things I'm waiting to read. ^_^

I love it! Wouldn't it be awesome if someone created a manga where mythological characters (like Pan) reincarnate into to the present day to live amongst mortals? ^^ I think a story like that would be awesome!

*laughs* There probably is somewhere... And yes, it would be pretty cool, but I think I'd be afraid they'd serious screw something up, too.

Only manga I can think of using Greek mythology in a modern-ish setting is Pantheon High, which isn't a reincarnation thing so much as a parallel history type thing.

You might want to check out the Percy Jackson series of books, though.

its a table top rpg where the players play the child of a god from either the greek, norse, egyptian, japanese, lowa, aztec, or atlantian pantheons called scions. it involves a whole lot of mythology and modern time incorperation and things of that nature. the character you play usually had aspects and traits of the assosiated god. this pic just seems very like like

*laughs* Ah. Sound like fun!

This character was done for a message board rpg that dealt more with the gods themselves in modern times rather than their children.

i love the modern day pan idea. such a good concept. he would so have a goatee and a leather jacket. you've done a good job on the glasses and the eyes showing through the lenses. i like the brown border and how both manifestations of him are partway outside. i'm not sure about the pan in the background having the glasses in his hands, doesn't seem to fit. i like the wrinkles in the shirt and how you can barely see his collar bones peeking out from the top. nice gift.

Yay Pan! He looks stylish. Good mythology characters are always nice. Do you have an Apollo or Artemis yet? I need to draw my incarnations of those deities more. T_T Woot for archers.

Well, one of our other players, Sumi, is playing an Apollo reborn character by the name of Brian (He's in my gallery in a few of my Theo pics), and I hear tell of an Artemis out there, but I don't talk to the player and have no idea if she's planning on keeping her. I should ask Sumi what her Apollo looks like, though... And yes, you should! I love seeing other people's renditions of mythological characters! Although out of the archers, I was always partial to Eros. ^_^

Heheh, yeah mine are in my gallery, but in my story it gets mixed up with totemic abilities, Thistle channels the energies of Artemis and her twin brother Rianth channels those of Apollo. So they have a very Solar vs. Lunar relationship in both their designs and personalities. I never get to drawing Rianth much unless he is in moth form. They are born with the power of a specific deity and could be considered a tangable manefestation of it. XD Most of my characters are like that except those that actually are my take on an actual god/goddess. It seems you have alot of mythology characters, which is rare in this day and age.

*laughs* I have a lot of characters; the mythology ones just give me a reason to draw them more often. Not to mention, mythology just tends to be fascinating and fun to play with, but I know I don't have to tell you that. ^_~
