I'm no pro but I'll give you my opinion on this because it kind of blew my mind. I've been deviantwatching you for some time now, and seeing this technique from you is new for me, and I gotta say it's brilliant!
I really like how you handled the lighting, the depth, the expression, and what I like the most is that it actually looks like a painting. The details on the face totally belong to Josh's actor, I immediately could tell it's him, and I think that's very important.
The concept is also very intriguing and profound, one can see he's got the best of cruel intentions; holding the hourglass and looking straight into you, that portrays this very intense character very well. I can also feel familiar to this piece because it is something I'd imagine.
I really hope to see more like these from you in the future!

Knowing the story of Until Dawn and what Josh is going through, This painting speaks many hidden words about him and what Dr.Hill said to him during his hallucinations.
The way Josh 'played God' in the game is shown in an impressive way through the hour glass. The Blood coming from the hour glass easily shows how much trauma and pain he made his friends go through.The dark background adds to these thoughts.
What would have shown more about the type of person Josh is, is by adding in something from his psychopath outfit. He could have been wearing the overalls or the mask, but I understand if you don't want spoilers in the photo.

I may not be the best person to give a critique but I have to say this picture is gorgeous! The lighting is near perfection and really gives the picture a darker feel (which matches the game). The character is instantly recognizable even if the picture just consisted of his face! I also love that you added the hourglass with the blood covered cabin inside, it really does an amazing job at representing the game and everything that happened in it. The shading looks beautiful with the gradient to dark (specifically on the face) You've paid so much attention to details (for example, the slight glow behind the ears).

To start I really admire the style of this work. The soft-ish brush strokes and the soft lights. Although those looks super amazing, it is a little tough on the eyes. Also with lighting, I am sure you wanted to show atmosphere, but there is too much light on the the left side of the cheek, which immediately draw the attention of my eye. Shading wise, you have done a fantastic job. There is coming from one source and the shadow is being cast beautifully. On the topic of shadow, I do think you may have over done it just a bit on his right ear, it is almost completely shrouded in the darkness. On to the hourglass, while I love the idea of the hour glass. The sand at the bottom doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, it looks more like a rock than it does sand. Unless you were trying to go for maybe the lodge or something being buried, it is kind of hard to tell. The blood that is on the hour glass and his hand, looks very good and is very well done.
So I have kept in mind that you are not originally good with this type of painting, but over all you did a wonderful job. I hope to see more amazing work like this in the future!

Simply stunning! I love how you close to perfectly drew the actor Rami Malek in his part as Josh Washington - and I really really like the idea of the hourglass - it fits so damn much to the whole background story of the game - what can I else say?
