The Mountains Of The West Elks are covered in fresh snow and clouds during Fall outside of Crested Butte, Colorado. What a hard shot this was to take. The wind was just absolutely howing and even with a 40+ pound camera back pack anchoring my backpack, I still had a lot of trouble. So it goes though with storms coming off the mountains. I did a lot of exploring while here this Fall and this is one scene I just happened upon out of the blue. Once again I was left speechless at how incredibly beautiful Colorado in the Fall truly is!

Thank you for not only the stunning image, but also the accompanying words. I recently acutely realized that every image has a story and that beautiful photography doesn't happen 'on the go'.
As for this one... I love the contrasting colors and seemingly impossible combination of nature elements. Very, very beautiful capture.

actully i do watch your page often, I have problems with writing and reading so i tend not to common on anything. I also stopped following people years ago. I respect your work as an professional and find many of your pieces breath taking. I really enjoy looking at your page because of Co mostly. you have many pictures of sun flowers and i like how your skys pops with color and have so much contrast. I like your page and refer to it often becuase you even talk about the equipped you use. I was still stuck back with 35mm until recently. I am very bad with words and then to stick to just my pictures. I apologize if i have offended you. just wanted to let you know I do watch you. along with several other " nature" photographers.

I actually have everything for my black and white lab. to. color is a little expensive but i have an enlarger and have doing 35mm for about 7 yrs now. I am definitely a fan of old school methods. Thanks for the Advise. Your completely right. it is something i would suggest to any starting photographer.
