Description I had a Rurouni Kenshin marathon a couple of days ago and after that, I couldn't move on with my life , so I thought I'd dedicate something to one of my favorite animes of all time.

RK brings back good memories. I remember as a kid, I'd watch it on Studio 23 (Philippines) and wonder who is this handsome Aoshi. Haha. Later on, my cousin (balatstar) and I found out that RK, along with Sailor Moon, Yuu Yuu Hakusho and the others are what we call animes. My cousin would order VHS tapes (VHS!!!) so we can watch the japanese versions and then drag me to UP Engineering so we can watch more OVAs. I was so tiny back then, I was having a hard time watching the big screen with those college guys sitting in front of us! Seeing RK again really makes me nostalgic. Sometimes, I wish I could go back to Comic Alley Greenhills and make myself happy by collecting anime cards, posters and stickers! Sadly, that branch doesn't exist anymore and it doesn't really matter that I can go to other branches because it won't feel the same, not to mention that anime is just everywhere nowadays.

So why Misao? Because she hearts Aoshi-sama! Haha. But seriously, I love her, too. She's such a great character, so light and carefree, loyal and brave, and most of all, she makes Aoshi's character less serious. Misao was also the character that I draw when I first joined a fanart competition. (10 years ago) It was nice to draw her again after all these years. It was only with colored pencils and pentels back then (unlike now where there are lots of computer tools to improvise a fanart), but the excitement in drawing her was still the same. And I was actually listening to the soundtrack while doing this. It's the best!

Of course, I’d love to draw Aoshi-sama as well, but I think I need a break from the computer. Digital drawing/coloring makes my eyes hurt. Maybe in the near future.

YES!! You mean the live action film that's coming out in August? EXCITEMENT!!! I also heard they were going to dub the Revenge arc, or even redo the whole anime.

They're planning to redo the whole anime, and if the live action's successful, they'll consider making it a series.

Also, I don't know how this is possible, but I've read Shishio's battle will be in Misao's perspective (not yet confirmed, I think ). Anyway, any Oniwaban exposure is most welcomed! I love their group so much, especially the two okashiras.

Hey yeah that's it man I loved that anime say didn't Kenshin have a sword but the blade was on the opposite side so that he won't kill anyone I forgot the reason why he did that

He was trying to atone for his sins. He believed that he can do better by staying alive and saving people. The sword was given to him by a swordsmith who supports his ideals.

Yeah that's it I remember now thanks Oh didn't he had to lean a new technique from his master but had to kill him in order to know how to use properly cause I think there was a guy who was more of a bad-ass then Kenshin also the guy was all wrapped up like a mummy for some reason and he had his own group of assassins I forgot the name of that group and there leader's name I watched this series a long time ago and I can't remember all of the details sorry

It's Shishio of Juppongatana.

You should watch it again, it's worth it. Or if you're interested, you can wait for the new one! News came out that they'll be doing a re-animation of Rurouni Kenshin. There's not much details, though, so fans have to wait.

I love Misao! Right next to Kaoru and Megumi she's my favorite female character from Rurouni Kenshin. She's cute, energetic, funny and pretty badass.

Awww, thanks. About your question, you can't really add someone here and be contacts with them like in other sites. There's a "+watch" button on top of each person's profile page. Once you click that, you can get updates from them (like if they're uploading a new artwork). It will start as a one-way, so it all depends on the person/deviant if they will 'watch' you back. I hope this helps. I'm glad my artwork is one of your first encounters in dA!

thanx i will try that and yeah i'm happy 2 i like you art work to you are really great xD my wall in my room is filled with drawings that are made ​​by my friends. I have even tried to draw a sketch which I actually somewhat proud of it came out very successful in relation to this was the first time I tried ^ ^ when I was doing it I had misao from Rorouni Kenshin in my head: D I was going to post it soon ^ w ^

^__^ it's Misao-chan! You've drawn her so pretty and I love the colours and shading! AND the concept of your picture! I totally agree in everything, you wrote. RK was my first manga, when I was -well- about nine years old and it'll be my favourite forever. But there are so many good old anime/manga and most of the new one are just... you know.

Yay, thanks for dropping by my RK fanart! I'm glad you like the end result, I am a bit dissatisfied with this drawing because it is only my own version of an existing RK art. I'm also happy that you particularly mentioned the colors because that's what I try to improve here.

I guess what's good about the anime is you can appreciate it as a child and as an adult, as well. It works well for all ages and gender that it's just a must-add to your favorites list! And I see your point there, I myself am trying to watch new animes to stay updated, but I always end up watching animes from my childhood. Most of the new ones just lack the "appeal" that will last for years. (I feel so loyal saying that. )

Although there are rumors of a Ruruouni Kenshin Live Action. I hope it's for real because that would revive the fandom.
