Description Class 43 HST No.43100 at Didcot November 1991, a brand new class 165 Thames Turbo No.165119 is in the background.

HST No.43100 started work on the WR, upon privatisation it was cascaded to work with Virgin. After Virgin replaced their HST fleet with voyagers, 43100 was given an MTU engine and then renumbered 43300 and now works with East Coast.

165119 so far has had an uneventful life so far and currently works with FGW.

Ah, the replacement of the Valenta with the MTU was a must. Yes it made a hell fire noise, but in operational and engineering terms it was necessary.

I've been looking for a HST like this for ages.
Thanks, and by the way, you're welcome and thanks for the reply.
