I've been wanting to cosplay Kaileena for several years now and so with the release of the Prince of Persia film I figured I might as well make Kaileena for Otakon 2010, however I wanted to take advantage of shooting while in St Thomas, VI and made a trial run version that I wouldn't mind shooting in on the beach.

Unfortunately, everything's been against me where this costume is concerned. My wig didn't arrive in time so I had to dye my Mullenkamp wig, finding a brown leather belt in NoVa is clearly a near impossible feat and lastly but most importantly the weather didn't want to cooperate with us at all. The first morning we went out around 6 AM battling 100% humidity and ghastly sand fleas only to have the camera lens refusing to equalize in the humidity so that shoot was a total loss. Retried it the following morning after leaving the camera lens outside in a freezer bag prior to the shoot. It lasted all of about ten minutes. We were also doing this in the rain. That was fabulous considering I was changing into Kaileena on the beach as well so I didn't have to wear it around to and from the shoot.

Needless to say, this costume thus far has been epic fail. I'm hoping Otakon proves to be a better venue for it.
