Crystal Montoya the deadly assassin Blood Lasher had a tragic life of being physically abused by first her alcoholic father then later by her own mother.
When she manifested her powers to summon blood whips from her forearms, she accidentally scarred the right side of her face. Seeing her manifest the bloodwhips, her father beat on her in a drunken rage, she killed him using them. Her mother, a nurse, also saw what happened and cursed her for being a 'demon' then began beating on her as well. Crystal killed her mother in self defense.

She roamed the streets doing hard drugs and sold her body in prostitution to get them until she was found by Government agents and brought to a mysterious facility where she was detoxed and trained to become an assassin for the Black Ops division of F.L.A.G.
As the masked Blood Lasher, she carried out asignments efficiently but she tried to escape. Her handler Dominique Faust instead 'released' her after performing surgery on her but told her she will be required to carry out a 'special' assignment of her choosing.
In Angel Falls she became a freelance assassin then met Harriet Chin and became a member of her team, the Fearsome Four.

Recently, she was put in jail along with her team mates by Ms.Blitzen and PhyreFrost, only they were soon sprung by Angelique Wrath, The Succubus Queen.
Angelique used her magic to repair Crystals badly scarred face and also given her the ability to create bladed weapons using her blood along with her whips.
She was also given a pair of Carpathian Dragons, Guns that use her blood as ammunition.
Crystal soon became a member of the 9th Circle and combat instructor for the Dark Academy.
