#006, Charizard, the Flame Pokémon. It spits fire that is hot enough to melt boulders. Known to cause forest fires unintentionally.What's up haters? Today I bring you one of my favorite Pokémon! I'm having fun with this digital painting thing so I think I'll be doing it more. I want to build up a "fantasy painting" portfolio for this next year. Though my dream is to be a comic(manga) artist, fantasy paintings have always inspired me and to be part of Magic: The Gathering's lineup is just as big a dream for me now.

It looks so awesome! I hate that everybody is now hating on charizard, they either are little kids who didn't get to see how cool charizard was in the show, or they are just hypocrites that used to love charizard and now they think they're cool cause they hate on charizard.

What makes everyone like realistic Pokemon so much? I like them in there original style. I love Charizard though, shes my favorite Pokemon, Pippi (don't ask, thats her name) is my first Pokemon, I will never leave her for as long as I love Pokemon! I found this by typing in Charizard, after all.

I think people like "realistic Pokémon" simply because they like Pokémon. To see another interpretation of the popular creatures is always fun, especially when it's done well. I happen to love fantasy painting and Pokémon, so I wanted to combine those two interests.

honestly I don't think people fav'd it for being charizard as much as they did just because it's an awesome dragon painting. even if you didn't call it charizard, I think you would have gotten a lot of favs

Eh... I don't know... I've seen a lot of better drawings of dragons go pretty much unnoticed. I see a lot of professional fantasy artists around dA with like no pageviews because they don't do fanart... pretty sure if one of them interpreted a Pokemon they'd get a Daily Deviation and suddenly be the next Artgerm in terms of popularity, haha.

To me, the coloring seems to be more of a Dragonite

But I used Charizard's colors. o.o I'm colorblind so I took one of Ken Sugimori's Charizard pictures and used the color dropper to get the different values.

Amazing detail and textures, awkward feet.
As much as I mean this comparison as a nitpick, I also mean to compliment you by saying your stuff's on par with published imaginative illustrations.
