Description This is an appropriated piece based on an existing work depicting a confrontation from the opening of the battle of Bannockburn in 1314. Armed with only a battle axe, the scottish king was set upon by Sir Henry de Bohun, 2nd Earl of Hereford. The english noble was spurred to a charge seeking to win glory by winning the battle with a single stroke. According to contemporary accounts, the scottish king skirted past the knight's lance with his nimble palfrey, and standing up in his stirrups delivered such a blow that it broke through Sir Henry's helmet and killed them instantly.

Despite my best efforts, I could not find a name associated with the artwork I appropriated this piece from. This was made for one of my college classes in order to demonstrate the use of motion, but I like it enough that I've decided to post it here.
