WARNING:....kind of a large file....Here's the tutorial i promise! it includes my OC Fuu.....although no one probably remembers Fuu.....
well anywho, i hope it's helpful and covers all the questions or whatever you might have.
i just want to address something...so read this and please don't be offended, that's the last thing i'd want...
I don't mind if people send me notes/messages or whatever on DA or YT, and like i said, i don't mind helping or answering them. But please don't abuse that.
Do not send me messages basically asking me to hold a damn pencil in your hand and draw for you. that's not going to happen. that's not how i learned how to draw, and that's not how any other artist on DA learned either.
Most artists are SELF TAUGHT. including myself. no one taught me how to draw and i never asked anyone to walk me through every single step either.
Some of you guys (not everyone) are really being way too familiar with me and its irritating. What's so hard about finding drawing/anatomy books at the nearest bookstore, practicing everyday, and giving each drawing 100%??
It's not if you're serious about being an artist. sending me lazy messages/comments "i can't draw, can you teach me?" shows me you're not serious, and you'd rather take the easy way. If you keep wanting to take the easy way out, no one is going to respect you and you're never going to learn anything or appreciate what you do.
so please, if you really want to be a better artist, it's really up to you to make that happen.....i can't do it for you, neither can anyone else on deviant art.

Hey Ko! Thanks for this tutorial, it really helped! Though, I think there is some wrong with my marker tool, (or we have different versions of SAI) because no matter what setting I put it on or how hard I pressed my marker just did not have the same effect. I had to end up using a brush instead lol! Anyways, thanks again!

Hey thanks for the tutorial! Im must say, i agree a 100% with you! Some of my friends ask me how i draw so good, i just tell them from experience and practice!! That's the ONLY way to get better, is just to do it yourself! Just like writing you just HAVE to do it! Art is not some kind of subject that you study and you can take a test on it. You get dirty and do it yourself, you can't wake up and your a good artist. I agree 1000% with you. BTW, I really love your art style.

I find it really impressive how you switched styles from your previous one to this one, especially since they are so different. Besides that though, I was wondering if you would recommend buying Sai. I've been doing traditional art for a long while and have considered getting into digital, and I was wasn't sure if photoshop or sai would be better. (Using a semi-realistic anime style such as yours) I've tried Gimp, but it just doesn't work for me. Thanks a ton!

If you're new to digital art, I'd recommend SAI^^ it's pretty easy to get use to and has most the same features that photoshop has. Photoshop is a bit better because of it's effects and different tools you can use, it produces better art but SAI is just as good^^ you can't really lose with either though ><

Ko, did your previous drawing style used to be semi-realistic ?, or it used to be anime, if anime, how did you start doing semi-realistic ?

nope, it used to be anime^^ Well, most of my influences used to be artists who draw your average anime style...as I got older, my influences changed...I started liking semi-realism artist and decided that style fits best with my stories/characters.
So I just study anatomy alot more and added more details into my drawings^^ I still have a lot to learn though lol

how do you make line art on a computer, do you have a special computer pad to draw on?

(this is in my opinion) Some people draw on paper and use a scanner to get it on the computer and outline it. Some people use tablets to draw on the computer. There are lots of ways to do it.

Hey Ko, I tried messing around with my marker tool but for some reason it doesnt work like yours does. I dont know if its my stylist not working right but it doesnt go from light to dark as its suppose to. So.. what Im saying is even if I go light with my stylist with no pressure, the color still shows very dark as if I was putting a lot of pressure. If you have any advice for that Ide be utterly happy to take that. Anyways thanks in advance.
