Description Just to show what I've been working on before I dive back into my pile of projects.

For my next animation assignment I'm planning to do Shere Khan, and even though we're not quite done yet with our current animation (due tomorrow, ack!) my teacher had us practice drawing our chosen characters by throwing movie stills at us and having us translate the actor's pose into the character's pose.

It was hard to translate a human into a tiger, pose-wise (the claw pose, for instance, was actually the guy holding pistols) but it was fun anyway and I learned I need to figure out how his hips work better... I kept defaulting to my standard hip construction, which isn't the same.

Shere Khan is without a doubt one of my favorite Disney characters, even for a villain, a very good job

Thanks. One thing I learned while copying drawings of Shere Khan for practice is he has a very flexible face.

Dang you're good. Shere Khan is pretty much awesome. In an 'I'm evil and going to eat the man-cub' kind of way. I just love how he moves. I can't wait to see your animations.

Oh, wow.. 8D Cool idea! Do you have any of the screenshots? It'd be interesting to see how they match up.

Ahh, I love Shere Khan. <333 I always had a soft spot for his giant jaws and crazy tail~~ Eeekeke, you draw him wonderfully.. : DD The "hmph" faces make me happy inside~~

I don't - they were just VHS movies that she did freeze frame on. The closest was the gun one because the actual model was stretched out like that on the ground.

Ohhh. xDD Makes sense, lol.
O rly? It must be hard to translate a two-legged pose to a four-legged one.. P: I guess it all comes down to gesture.

Awesome work. It's got to be good practice trying to draw other animation characters 'on model.'

Yeah, it is... still not doing 100% accurate drawings, but I'm getting close! And who doesn't want to learn to draw like Milt Kahl?
