Also up on elfwood. This is really totally regressive for me--it's the kind of thing I was drawing a year ago, both in skill level and content. So I'm horrified at the mess I made of some things, particularly the light source--or lack there of. Where the heck is the shading on her face coming from, if the fairies outside are glowing? beats me. Oh, and the room is crap, and so are the wrinkles in her dress. But it's so nostalgic of my older work that I kind of like it anyway. Besides which, the fairies came out alot better than I'd expected; making stuff glow when using colored pencil is a pain in the butt, but it actually looks halfway decent...Related content

umn....if nothing showed up above, I really don't know why.....everything just dissapeared *dies of shame* Why won't computers work for me?
....in effect, my statement was that if we, the viewer, had a lantern, then of course there would be light on her face, coming from just the right direction, so you can use that as your excuse!
And naturally, everything else is just marvellous. The sort of sweet picture I draw when under school-induced stress- very peaceful and pretty

but then the shadows on the walls would be different! No, the lighting is wrong, that's amy story and I'm sticking to it. As for your computer problems;my sympathy. They hat eme too. We should start a "computers-hate-us" club. ...except it would be an ONLINE club and so it would always be malfuctioning...

no, no, no- there IS a lightsource! What you say is that we, the viewers, are standing in the doorway, with a lantern, having just come through said doorway from a dark passage. Hence your reason for light on her face- perfectly logical 
and the fairys and dress and everything are so pretty, that it doesn't matter in the least anyhow! So smile

Oh, yeah, the wrinkles are crap, yeah, yeah, mhm... I would die for being able to draw wrinkles like that. Okay, I wouldn't die, then I wouldn't be able to draw, so it would kinda be a waste. Anyway, what I mean is that the wrinkles are great. In fact, the only thing thst's wrong (well, not wrong... rather... not great) with this picture, compared to your other ones, is that there isn't any light source. But that really doesn't make the picture any less pretty.
