I could never paint a mirrored figure or "twinned" figure in this case~ as you have here...Never....I paint much to fast & looose & never plan anything....Always changing everything, a scatalogical WHOLE...I either blindly trust it will work, or it doesn't...I don't think when I paint..Do YOU

I like this one a lot. The dark feel of the painting is almost like a tangible essence. Wonderful shading and colours as well.

Have you read "Red as Blood" by Tanith Lee? This piece reminds me of her dark renditions of fairy tales. Theres something beautifully primal and somehow raw and cold about the tree. The Ritualistic sitting makes me think of witches, yes but also Greek statues of wisdom.
