Description
“Orca wait! Y-you can’t just do that!” A deep blue SeaWing flashed, he chased after his sister in the dark. Azure, thought the youngest member of the Royal family, was the fastest. His sister stopped and sighed, bubbles jetted from her mouth, “Go back to bed, Azure,” She flashed and pointed down the corridor. He shook his head and stayed put, “You’re only seven! You’ll be killed!” He flashed the spots on his side a bit too brightly. “Not so bright! You’ll get me caught!” She flashed, her snout twisted into a snarl, “Don’t worry about me, I’ll be queen before you know it! Mother doesn't stand a chance! Not after the gift I left her!” Azure tilted his head, “Gift?” He mimicked, “What gift?” Orca looked behind her, the throne room had a light in it, “I’ll tell you tomorrow morning! Just go back to bed for now!” She ordered him and swam farther down the hall.
Azure waited until her tail turned the corner, he floated in the hallway waiting for Orca to swim out. His mother wouldn’t kill her, she loved her daughter too much, she’d walk out just fine, he knew that much. He opened and closed his talons a few times, Orca was only seven, did she really think she could take down their mother? She was the SeaWing queen, leader of their kind and ruler of all SeaWings! There was no way she’d take her down. To be sure she was alright, Azure quietly drifted down the hall towards the Throne room.
He cracked the door open slightly and thought to see his sister bleeding out on the floor. "I did this all wrong. You're going to rule forever, aren't you, Mother? You should thank me. No one can stop you now." She flashed weakly, her snout in a growl. “ORCA!” Azure flashed brightly, the light was so harsh Coral’s eyes were hurt by it. The tiny SeaWing prince rushed into the room and put his talons on Orca’s side, his mother was crying quietly. “Y-you’re going to be ok! I-I’ll get the medics!” he flashed, his eyes struggled not to cry. “The gift, read the book on my desk,” Orca flashed as Coral dashed out to cry alone. “You should have gone to bed, Little Brother,” She smiled and closed her eyes. It was too late, she was dead. Azure shook her shoulder, trying to wake her up, “Orca, you have to wake up! We have to go to bed!” He flashed, he buried his face in his talons and cried himself to sleep. He laid next to his sister the whole night.
He woke up in his bed the next morning, he yawned and stretched his wings. He sniffed and sadly looked to the window, light shone down from the surface. “Azure, mothers waiting for us,” Orca said, her talons were filled with stone slabs and marble chunks. Azure blinked and rubbed his eyes, she was alive again? “Orca!” He jumped out of his bed and hugged her. “You’re alive!” He was so happy to see her again.
“What did you see, brother?” She grabbed his shoulders and pushed him into his room, her tail shut the door quickly. “Y-you and mother were fighting! A-and you died!” He explained, he didn’t want to talk about it right now, he just wanted a hug. “What did I do to kill her?” She asked. “You fought her… with um… I-I don’t know… Why? Why did I have that dream! It scared me…” He flashed. “Promise me, you won’t tell mother…” she sighed, “I enchanted your food last night to make you see the future of my battle. I plan on beating mother next year,” she said. “W-why do you want to beat her so badly? She’s our mother…” Azure blinked, maybe she was just sick… “We’ve lived under her rules long enough, It’s about time someone else made the rules!” Orca responded, she raised her head higher, “And who better a future queen than someone who already knows how to lead. You’ve seen how I handle all of our brothers at dinner and in school, Mother can’t even control them, but I can!” she flashed.
The more Azure thought about it, she was right. His brothers were the rowdiest dragons in the ocean, no one could get them to be quiet. She would make for a wonderful queen, maybe she’d make him more Important than he was now… Maybe she’d make him into the Royal assistant! He was always taking notes and writing things down for his sister all the time anyways, why not just get a fancy title to go with all the ink. After all, he and Orca were pretty close, he knew a lot about his sister. The most important fact is she was animus, she made Azure swear to never tell anyone until she was queen. As the dragonet he is, he agreed, not knowing just how hard that would be.
“Now c’mon, mothers still waiting,” Orca flashed, she grabbed Azure’s talon and led him down the hall, “She was probably going to send a search party for us,” The two SeaWing royals swam down the hall, Azure’s dark blue scales made him look like Orca’s shadow.
