ACEO (2.5"x3.5") done on bristol with water soluble colored pencil and gouache.

This piece sprung from my habit of rescuing slugs (yes, you heard correctly). In the mornings after a rain there is usually quite a herd of wild, free roaming slugs carpeting the sidewalks. After it dries up a bit some of the slower moving (as opposed to the racing slugs) ones either get stepped on or are surrounded by ants and subsequently set upon, and no good can come of that! The light colored spotted species I have dubbed as the 'appaloosas'. Thus, I've gotten into the admittedly strange practice of placing these loners back onto the soil under the bushes so they're free to repeat their suicide trek on another day. Either that or the birds come along to pick them off instead....sigh.

I plan on a similar piece but on a larger scale when time permits.
