Okay I get Zistopia thing but can anyone tell me about Zoodistopia? It's a title of YTP but I thought it's also alternate Zootopia universe.

I've really surprised Judy isn't wearing a shock collar in the Zistopia version. Maybe she's still trying to get her hands on one?

Prey predator? they're both mammals they both have feelings and dreams. the only thing that is different between them is what they need to have in their diet. What I'm saying is that Judy understands this and is saying that if you're going to treat predators that way you're gonna have to treat me the same.

What are you talking about? I said that shock collars were made for predators, not prey... what is your point?

I'm just saying Judy doesn't like the injustice and will go to extreme measures to fight it.

I'm sure she will do it if she can. Judy is not the kind of mammal taht can live with this injustice

Oh yeah; She won't stand for that kind of stuff. And she won't stop trying to put a stop to it even if it means she has to suffer the same pain as predators.

Oh sure! Let me explain you.
Zistopia is the name the fandom use to call the first version of the Zootopia movie, where the predators use a shock collar to be under control and the preys have the government power.

From my understanding, Zistopia was a scrapped concept for Zootopia. It was supposed to be a universe where predators wore shock collars, to keep their vicious natures in check, by basically making them into emotionless husks. (The collars would shock predators every time they had strong emotions.) So think the Jim Crow laws on steroids, and you've basically got Zistopia. Judy would have been a hard boiled Lieutenant, and I'm not sure what Nick's deal was in this universe, but yeah. It was deemed to dark and cruel, so the concept was shot down.

What really bugged me about that universe was how every character was a jerk (both good guys and bad guys). One of them was Old!Judy Hopps. I found it hard to sympathize her because she was very mean to Nick and (like every prey) supported tame collars and hated predators. Not very different from Mayor Swinton (the antagonist who got replaced by Bellwether and Lionheart)! So why should I care about her? I was told that it was implied Judy acted so mean because nobody respected her for being a cop-no friends, no respect. Still, it didn't make me feel so sorry for the bunny. That doesn't give her an excuse to act uncivilized toward Nick. If it weren't for the incident with Gideon Grey, I wouldn't have liked Judy.

I think we the fandom turned them in that kind of characters.
For the little I could read about the other movie (the canon information) Judy was doing her job, and because she grew up in a anti predator society she was like she was.
If in the stories the artits and writers did about it the character were more dark or more jerks, that was because of the perception of the authors.
But, don't worry. I have a story already planned for a mini comic and you won't see a bad Judy n.n

Toonsgirl27 In reply to Koraru-san [2017-11-25 19:37:56 +0000 UTC]
But I didn't learn about Jerk!Judy from the people that wrote Zistopia stories, I learned about her from the canon information. In every scene she was in, she was always mean to Nick. For example, there was a scene where two gerbils ran over Nick's tail. When Judy came over to see what was wrong, she took the gerbils' side. She didn't care that Nick was telling the truth and had a good reason to complain. There were a few touching moments such Judy finally realizing how horrible the tame collars were during a Taming Party. But that was only one time. Throughout the rest of that movie concept, I still found myself having little to no sympathy for her.
It really shames me how many Zootopian fans prefer Zistopia over the real Zootopia. What's wrong with the final cut of the movie? It has a sympathetic heroine! What is wrong with having a movie that is actually light-hearted? Making a dark story doesn't always make it powerful. At least in Zootopia, whether you like WildeHopps as a couple or as friends, we can agree the fox and bunny are better together than apart. In Zistopia....not really, I wanted Nick to eat Judy, or better, sue her and thr ZPD for police harassment! So I don't care what everybody else says, I like Zootopia and I will take Final!WildeHopps over the Jerk!WildeHopps any time of the day!

Ah, I see.
Yes, rumor has it that one of the reasons the creators made Zootopia as a reaction to today's racism (especially to Donald Trump, President of the United States). Huh, Zootopia is like their version of "South Pacific."
I'm looking forward to your comic! ^^
