I love it! The fox is so elegant and sleek <3 It blends into the background without just going 'Poof!'

I like it!
Didn't even notice the missint tail tip since white fur and snow often blend together on photos.

I like the colours you used for the fox. Most people don't realize that foxes turn a pretty, dull silver starting from thir shoulders down. Coincidentally, my first time doing a watercolour was of a fox too, and I used Derwent watercolour pencils O.O

This is an awesome piece, Korrok. You've succeeded in putting your personality into this piece. Nice colors, nice harmony.
Also, there's no shame at all to base a painting on a photo. Many artists do that here in Belgium. And they go in exhibitions with their paintings, and it's appreciated. The photo is just a model, and it's a very good way to improve in anatomy.
You'd really better show such pieces to wildlife artists and aquarellists to receive constructive comments rather than to the furry fandom. Except some nice people here and there, you'll find dudes who'll only moan and bitch because a certain part of the fandom is like that. Such pieces deserve much more attention, from professionals or good amateurs of wildlife art.
My two cents - Nyo.

I agree that I should try to find more real watercolor artists to get help from! Luckily, my step-grandmother is a watercolor artist who regularly exhibits and sells her work (landscapes mainly) and I'm visiting with her this weekend for more information on improving technique, materials and exhibiting locally.
I have intentions at the moment which I will no doubt write about when I'm back "full time" in Livejournal etc (I just couldn't resist telling about my puppy, hehe). At the moment Tag is keeping me too busy anyway to have time for these things. But at least it's helped me come to a decision.

Great! I wish you much fun with artwork and with Tag. Don't worry for your LJ, your real friends perfectly understand you need to step back during a while. And it's true Tag will make you think about something else. This dog came at the good moment.
Also, when you have some watercolor pieces, try to sell some, why not?
BTW did you get my email?
PS: When I look at the DA thumbnail, a detail pops up: on the foreground, try to add some color values: just look at the photo, the snow where the fox is darker than the background. Just look at the shade done by the fox on the snow and compare with the background on the photo: you got the right tone I think, but not dark enough. Try to make it closer. Just a tip. (not easy for me neither: I see about without relief).

I've re-sent the emails to your gmail account. Please tell me if you got them this time.
I guess there's a problem on your Yahoo account then.

Because it is brilliant, and watercolours are the satan's prefered painting material.

Great job! I love how the fur is so multi-tonal, and well done with the snow, that stuff's so hard to do! X3

Dude! That is so awesome! I could never do that with paints.
My only critique is on the tail-base. It's a little...odd. I don't really know how to explain it.

Good work on finding the ref pic, I wish I'd been able to find the time to look for it but I was too busy to spare the time.

Wow, that looks awesome! I love that pose. You have so much control over the media, especially for a first real painting. I highly doubt that I can get that much control with watercolors. They are a notoriously difficult media. I especially love the face. You got so much detail in! It looks awesome.
