A Colored commission done for Basillisk over at FA.
I had a lovely time drawing this. I remember reading up on the Aztec weapon, Macuahuitl, because of it which was a very fascinating experience. Who'd knew ♪ You draw commissions, you get exposed to other cultures.

I love the obsidian teeth on the wooden sword.
I mean, it's gargantuan. Final Fantasy-sized, really. But in Mesoamerica they really did use swords in that style.
The collision of realism and unrealism gives a certain tension - which characterises many of my favorite artists. (Michael Whelan would be an obvious example.) Nice work.
(I also like how you create your images at an absurdly high resolution. Which of course is another way to achieve that same effect... but you probably knew that.)
