The contrast of the reds and blues against the white really gives it a great effect. The anatomy of the people is perfec (as alwasy) and generally it's amazing!! Nice work!!

The colorful looks and simplistic shapes make me think of childhood, and Christmas, before my mom became a total scrooge.

SO cute!! I love the paper cranes in the background! all the different shapes in the background make this so intricate! especially with the layering effect of the blue shapes behind the orange and red shapes! I love the paper cutting idea! Its so simple and the whole work makes me feel so nostalgic! this is amazing!!! how did you get all the shapes in the background to overlap like that!!!? It so detailed!!! amazing job!

The shapes are actually layers of watercolour, so I paint the lighter shapes first, and add darker layers after the first layers are dry. (Haha, I hope that makes sense.)

It makes sense but it seems so hard to do! it just looks so awesome with the dark shapes behind the light shapes because everyone usually creates dark colors over light washes of color but it looks the opposite way!!! Almost as if you defied watercolor rules!!! but really you just created the illusion of overlapping!
are your ideas inspired by your childhood? It makes me feel nostalgic cause its so carefree and innocent! I wanna be a kid again!!!!

It just means a thicker watercolour paper. There's 90lb (which is not that thick), 140, 300lb etc.

They are actually not blended, but different layers. So the blue came after and just covered the reds and yellows. C:
