Description
This piece was created today at a little festival called, "1,000 Easels" in dowtown Asheville, NC. I found out about it two days ago and was suddenly invited to participate. The man who put the show on had the intention of sprinkling the streets with painters and allowing the raw public to interact with the painters, ask questions, watch the processes, etc.

I started by creating a rough chaotic background, then inserted the cube. After allowing it to dry (working with acrylic), I began "sculpting" in the two figures with my brush. This piece is a little 16 x 20 inches painting.

I enjoyed working outside so much. I wish I could work in the sun and shade more often.. The style of this painting is very contradictory to my usual style in the manic strokes of the brush and the cool blues haunting the warm reds.

I hope by trying this approach, I can discover a new way for myself to breathe in more life into my work. It definitely feels one step closer!
