Description Vadahunyad Castle in Budapest resembles the castle of the same name in Romania from this angle. It's just a 'copy' though, with some other stuff in different styles tacked onto it, and only a hundred years old or so... but still very nice

Thanks! I read it was originally created for some exhibition as a paper model, but was so popular they built it for real. It has a great fairytale air about it. It would be awesome to see the original Vadahunyad Castle in its original surroundings in Romania. I imagine it amidst rolling hills and forests, but who knows, maybe there's a huge industrial estate all round it

Thanks! It says Hunedoara, I don't know if it's the same place or not. Maybe that's the Romanian name, Vadehuyad was used by the Hungarians when the area was part of their old empire. It certainly looks similar - and quite spectacular!
