Hey, it only took two and a half years! It's funny how some of my fanart pieces get shuffled to the back of my harddrive and then perk my interest back up years later.
So for those of you who have been watching me for a while, this is the (finally) colored version of "Our Days Together Will Grow" which I posted back in June of 2008:

This isn't exactly a spoiler for the ending of the Inuyasha manga since... it's not shown in the manga. That is my one and only huge GRIPE with the last chapter is that through 558 chapters and 12 years we never got ONE canon-drawn kiss. Crimeny.
So I drew my own.
This image should go between page 27 [link] and page 28 [link] in the final chapter. It was a perfect opportunity for it and I choose to believe that she just neglected to show it.

even in final act, the kiss was " meh" but this image has passion and heart. I love the composition and colors. You have excellent line weight. Truly stunning, great job.

Problem with Takahashi-san is that she never EVER let her characters show affection more than with words. If you follow her works you will live in a disapointing mood at this respect the rest of your life. My theory is that she's never been in love nor having any kind of relationships except maybe her pencils and paper

When I saw this in my watch stacks, I thought the same thing... "Now, THAT should've been in the last chapter." I'm not a huge Inu/Kag shipper, but I still think the series needed at least ONE kiss at the end there. I mean, come ON!

BEAUTIFULLY coloured. The picture in and of itself is beautiful, but the colouring technique just helps it pop. A strong style for a strong scene.

There was no kiss in the Japanese release in 2008 so I doubt there will be now that Viz has finally gotten around to releasing it as well. At least The Final Act anime added one in.

It's all streaming on Shonen Sunday's website in subtitled Japanese. I don't know when the dub will be released, though. It's 26 episodes and a little rushed at first, but the end is GLORIOUS.
