This is Czech? Oh my goodness. I wish I knew how to read it so I could learn some basic language skills from my heritage. The words themselves look so pretty...

No, this isn't the Czech language. It's Polish. Beautiful language but at the same time one of the most difficult languages in the world. Some people even claim that the most difficult. Even many Poles doesn't know entire spelling rules and they make mistakes. So it's very hard when it comes to translations. For example - poetry, translation is unable to give overall beauty and language nuances. So sometimes works lost a bit. Here I posted my old story, but I'm not a writer and I don't feel ready to write some longer stories yet. If you like you can see Polish poems with a English translations under my phtographs: fav.me/d8q1e05 and fav.me/d8p9qb8 ; They've been written by one of my favorite authors. Do you have some European roots in the Czech Republic?

Oh, really? Whoops! That didn't occur to me at all. It looks beautiful all the same. I do have European roots in the Czech Republic, from my Mother's side of the family.

This isn't a big mistake for someone who doesn't know the language. Czech is a Slavic language, and therefore close to, for example, the Polish. There are words sounding in Czech and Polish the same or very similar, but mean something completely different. Your mom probably might know the differences.
