Hahah I always use photos. I am not that talented to not use one, sadly. T_T I can't remember what photo I used now.... though.. or I would link you.
And yea, I am trying to develop a style now... Its hard T_T I am really tired of how bad my art had been looking though. I mean, it looked okay.. but lacked something? I mean.. I want to have a more painting feeling? I think this one captures what I want best of all I have done recently... AH I AM RAMBLING. hahaha sorry.

When I draw portraits I use photos too so you're not the only one. Infact I think most portrait artists use photos. There's nothing bad about it either.
I use references all the time.
