Description It's kind of nuts that even being 100 miles away from Las Vegas, in Alamo, NV, you can still see the lights. If you look closely, you can even see the beam of light from atop the Luxor hotel. This was my first attempt at photographing the Milky Way and it was also my first time ever seeing the sky as dark as it was. Absolutely breath taking. Next time I'm driving even further.

I had to drive an hour and a half into the middle of nowhere to see this, it was REALLY dark and a little unnerving. It was worth it though. Thinking about spending a night out there in the near future, with some company this time.

This is most awful what can be here is [link] to where to/not to go to get maximum darkness in the sky and best results in watching night sky.

I have that app on my phone I used that map with this site [link] but I think it's only good for North America.
