Ohhh, Eponine.... darling girl. Poor thing. You have my heart, sweet 'Ponine.

Playing her brought me to a point of feeling closer to her. Geez, it's insane how we get into our characters. I was probably always a little bit annoyed with how everyone is always like, "OH MY GAAASH, I LOOOOVE EPONINE, SHE'S ME. I'M HER. WE ARE ONE. I TOTALLY GET HER, I'M FRIEND-ZONED TOO!!!" ....

Alright, I'm sorry.

I have sympathy for everyone who can relate to her, because it's awesome when we can relate to a character so much, but there's so much more to this character than most people get a chance to realize. There's despair. Not just for love. For suffering and hunger and hatred and neglect. And there's so much strength, and yet so much vulnerability. It's absolutely heart-breaking.

Anyhow, I couldn't help myself. Quick sketch in my sketchbook, and then added effects on the computer.

I did read through a few parts of the book, back when I did the show,
but nothing very in-depth, so it's really cool to hear that parts of this
representation ring true to the original description!

Well, once you read the book, I think that there is so much

more depth to find in the characters, which makes it near

impossible to dislike them.Β

I know what you mean though. Les Mis has so much more depth than you see when just watching the musical or movie. My goal is to read the book, it's so long!

And it's absolutely amazing how much more there is
in the book... Victor Hugo is absolutely life-altering.
I did read a lot of sections of the book for research, but
I haven't gotten to read the entire thing. Hope you accomplish your goal!
