To be fair, the original book is exactly like the movie: "Doesn't really make sense, even when it provides a, honestly, very unique explanation on the origins of the zombies, but still full of charming character and entertaining horror-comedy." I still really liked both of them.

Hey, I remember this film. It was actually pretty good. Not a β€œmasterpiece” but certainly thought-provoking and a fresh take on the whole zombie genre. Zombies have always served as a symbol for the most basic of human instincts and the struggle to survive. It was nice to see them used as a metaphor for people who feel β€œdead inside”. Living (or not living) day by day without any real purpose in life (or death). Which surprisingly fits really well with Nick and Judy’s actual relationship. Nick was just a street hustler living from con to con and, despite how he acted, probably wasn’t all that fulfilled or happy with his life. Content, but not happy. Then Judy comes crashing into his life and completely changes everything. She gives him a second chance and new lease on life.
