Description Part 4

It was five o'clock, the start of my shift. My make-up was applied and I was in full costume. Ready as I'll ever be. I got into position, they weren't coming until nine and my shift ends at midnight on Fridays, so I had all night. In the house, I was positioned behind a trap door. There were several spots for me to spy out of and to take pictures out of.

The hours went by slowly and I just had chocolate one of my co-workers offered me. Chocolate gets me pumped, like how energy drinks get other people energized. They never worked on me, so I just eat chocolate and alot of it. The monster that was at the beginning of our darkened hallway gave me a signal that they were coming, since he knew what my boyfriend looked like.

I zoomed in on my cell phone and snapped a picture of them walking hand-in-hand fast enough that I got them before they reached me. Normaly, I would just jump out and cackle at the people's screams, but I did something different. I activated the air hose, which merely blew air on their feet giving them the illusion something is there. I was allowed to active it, but not all the time. As Miria screamed, she huddled closer into his embrace, which got me pretty mad. No, mad is an understatement. Extremely I-will-bite-your-head-off pissed sounds better. Alot better.

In addition to my air trick, I snuck up behind them and lightly put my hands on their shoulders, too light to notice. Her screaming continued and I brought my unrecognizable face inbetween theirs. My boyfriend was the first to notice me, since Miria's eyes were tightly shut and I could swear she was crying. With a sudden jerk of his body, he wretched my hands off both their shoulders.

"Hey, watch it buddy. Hands off my girl." At this point, I remebered that Dead Men's Pier had a baseball bat somewhere. I wanted to smash his face in with it, but instead I raised my hands in defense and backed off. As they walked down the way, I turned off the air hose and glared at their backs. His arm was slung around her waist protectively and, once they were out of sight, I punched the wall. Funny thing is, I forgot how thin the metal walls were and it created a loud, startling sound which made many people scream, and I swear that I heard Miria fall.

Instead of going back into my hiding place like I should've, I walked in the shadows, following them, only after telling the co-worker that I was taking a break to compose myself. Sure, that wasn't a lie. The tears threatened to fall, but I couldn't let them ruin the make-up, in fear that it would smudge and reveal to them my identity. Still, I followed them silently and the other monsters thought nothing of it, since we were all like a family and they knew what was going on. The more I stuck behind them and saw how he was more protective with her than me, the more I wanted to find that baseball bat. Then, it hit me.

I went to one of the monsters I knew the best and, since I could tell he was insanely bored, asked him to find me that baseball bat. He nodded, as if he already read my mind, and quickly fetched it for me in time for me to catch up with them. I smirked when they came to the exit of the house and they sighed in relief, thinking it was over. But it wasn't. They still had to go through the pier portion. I tried my best to hide myself, since it wasn't utterly dark as it had been before, and noticed my perfect oppertunity once they reached the bridge. The bridge was like the ones in movies, with missing boards and how it swayed from side to side, threatening to break.

Just as they were in the middle, clutching onto eachother as if they were going to die, I swung the metal bat down on the boards, shaking the bridge. Miria screamed bloody murder and, running away from his grip, reached the other side in a heartbeat. He turned to me and ...did he just growl at me?!

"Listen you! I thought I told you to leave us alone!" I wanted to reply but my voice was too recognizable. In a second, one of my other friends scared Miria and looked to my boyfriend.

"Hey, buddy. Its called a haunted house for a reason. Get it?" He snapped, then looked over at Miria. I knew that look on his face, even if it was caked with fake blood. "Oh, she's a real catch. Getting in the fetal position over a haunted house. Pathetic." He then turned his gaze to my boyfriend. "What did you have to do to get her? Dump your girlfriend?" I wanted to hug him at that moment because the expression his words gave my boyfriend were priceless. I could see how ashamed he was and ...is that abit of guilt? Nah, its just probably my tears fogging my vision again. With that said, we both returned to our posts and I got to scare a couple more people on my way back.
