Description Use ASDF and the arrow keys to play!!
Work out all the attack by yourself!!

I'm quite happy with the moveset, but the controls suck.
I'd like to hear what keys you think would be more comfortable, or is 4 action keys too much?
I might try changing the heavy-attack key into smash-attack style execution.
Press ESCAPE to change the keys.
ENTER to restart if you die or glitch.

Also tell me the collision detection is not the worst you've seen in a flash game.

Also check out the lag when the boss dies.


Things that I will add later:
Add REAL TIME WEAPON CHANGE.
Weapons will be collected throughout the game, and give you different magic attacks.
HP/MP/Attack upgrades, Zelda 2 style.
Maybe some attack combos.
Boss health meter.

i love the seiken-like attack
sure other swords would make this the best of all flash platformers if you added all the skills from EBF

this rocks pretty hard.
I've been working on my own platformer engine for a while now and its still fucked up in a few places I mean I've been teaching myself AS for like the past 6-8 months so its far from perfect.
can you be awesome and recommend any tutorial or anything you know. that would be exceedingly rockin of you. I'm mainly having problems making my hittest as smooth as yours and I cant figure out how to make attacks effectively :\

A fantastic piece of flash code, and something I truly envy. The levels are well designed and fun. The only things I would say is that more often then not I got confused by the buttons and attacked rather then jumped.

One solution to this would be to make the jump button space bar, and put all the combat keys on A, S, and D. Rather then having jump smack bang in the middle of them.

Also that boss is one tough cookie. Is it even possible to kill it at the moment.

P.S. just wondering, if you're going to keep the source code to yourself or wether or not your going to release it... Because I'd certainly be interested in seeing how you did it (I fail at coding platforms games you see)

Don't feel the need to release the source code, I'm just curious.

The keys Z X C are the most common used ones in these kind of platformers but i guess you can put in anything if a player can change it, nothing to really complain about.

I lol'd big time when i found out that i could stand on the moving cattail, t'was epic.

I believe you should change Blocking to the LEFT SHIFT key. That's my personal pref since I rest my pinky there. Also, add a slow recharge to the health meter.

I find that using A for jumping and having the attack buttont to the side of it kinda like metal slug or something and the movement could use some tweaking

Awesome, the fact that you have to destroy the little targets reminds me of SSB the bonus challenges.

Hmm... when I died while casting Seiken (I believe that's how it's called ) the mark remained in one place and I can't use heavy attack... mashing [ENTER] doesn't change a thing...

But, it's so much fun!

So far as it is, its kinda fun. target practice in a few places and a "boss" to fight. later on i bet your planning a couple extra weps and enemies to use it on. i will admit it was kinda akward to use 4 action keys. a light and heavy attack key, a gaurd key and a jump key is a tad much. if UP was jump i would say it be easyer to handle. the magic attacks work well. cant wait to see this evolve.

Its an interesting game, so to speak. The control scheme seems a bit slippery, but only just a bit. The character seems to slide after a only a few seconds. THe attacks are a little slow when it comes to execution wise, and the magic attack seems to be a bit, well...off? I dunno, but it seems a bit slow.

All in all, if this were on newgrounds...I'd give it a 4/5

Its not actually a bad game after all,and yes the controls are horrible,in my suggestions,it should be like this hopefully.

Up Arrow-Jumping
Down Arrow-Duck
Left and right-Moving
A-Attack
S-Heavy attack

And for the boss,it doesn't actually lag,however, while I attack my heavy attack seems to get slower whenever a boss is near me.

I think its pretty good for a platformer just needs a few tweaks.

Are you goin to have an inventory system?
Dont forget the pots, wonder if you could implement drain and mana leech...

The Quake doesn't work on the platforms...
Does Blocking prevent all damage or reduces damage?

if you had sword switching it would be awesome, you could possibly use the number keys 4 this ....how about armor upgrades or even sword upgrades B)

It's a Great Game!
Controls Are a Bit Laggy, But i Think We Should Jump With Space And Use D Instead Of F.
What i like in The Game is That It Has 12 Different Moves! Press The Attack Button While In Air Or With An Arrow Key, That's Awesome! You Do A New Move!
So It's Totally Great, just Jump With Space And D Instead Of F, + Fixing Bugs That Other People Found, This Game Is A KAPOOM!
I Would Write All That In a Critique But i'm Not a Pro Deviant.
And 5 stars For Every Thing BUT Controls, 4 Stars.

It's really not very precise.
All the hit boxes are actually box shaped.
