I was experimenting with his human form a little here.
I can imagine him playing an instrument of some kind...

This is really nice. i can't describe it but it has this really finished feel - like its more than a sketch.
The shading lines you used make it look like an etching/engraving from old books.

A new level of emphasis
yeah I tried using a slightly different technique for shading, where rather than just scribbling the pencil over it like I usually do, I used more defined strokes.
I remembered doing something like that at school
