LOL, turns out this competition wasn't ending til a month later... I misread the date it had to be completed by and stayed up all night and the next day for no reason XD
And now the competitions even been extended..
I want to edit this and work on it more, fix the things I messed up from sleep deprivation and things pointed out in critiques (thank you everyone
)... but now I've lost all my motivation to do that... mmmmerh I'll try one day.. tomorrow maybe?END EDIT (ramble)

This is for Yuumei's Go Green competition.
Naturally my nature loving Virus came to my mind straight away with this theme. I already had this picture I wanted to do of him before I heard of the competition. So the competition is an excuse to finish it ;D
I started this a few weeks ago but had to put it off while I had my exams and other things...
Then I've spen the last week and the whole last ...over 24 hours trying to finish this.
The quality's gone down in places where I did them last because lack of sleep tends to do that to me...
but otherwise I'm happy with this.
My hand is all cramped up and my head hurts @_e
obviously I fail backgrounds.

Comments and favs very very very muchly appreciated! as well as constructive critique. I think.. this is probably my first 'human' in my gallery... or a half decent one at least so any pointers I wouldn't mind.
To earn a prize I think you either had to have a very motivational picture... or have had lots of people look at yours...

I've been working to do a revamp of this particular drawing :'D though it's not quite the same as this.
Just keep practising, draw when you have inspiration, keep it as something you enjoy doing :3

okay.
so maybe not exactly the word 'lovely'
but it's wonderful
very well done and the idea is absolutely genius
the way you portrayed it and your coloring skills are awesome

i like the little flowing plant sitting in it's lovely little dirt pile the best
^^
it is after all the main focus of the painting
just a little something that I noticed though.
when you first look at your picture, the eye looks directly at the red eyeball and kind of just stays there
(i know this is at least for me :])
and because of the dramatic red eye right in the middle of the painting, the little glowing plant isn't really standing out
maybe you could not make the eye so bright? maybe? 
just a suggestion.

i was staring at this... and it reminded me of "W.A.L.L.E" the little robot who keeps the little plant inside of him. and the plant is the whole focal point in the film. robots care more for our well being than we ever will. WE SHOULD ALL BE ROBOTS! EVEN MACHINES POLLUTE LESS THAN HUMANS! heheh...

Hmm... I need to make up a comment out of my reaction. My reaction was just... "Holy dooley" coupled with a stare.
So here comes an extra long comment. Just for you. You know you like 'em, and I like to dish 'em out. >3
AJSDHSJ I love everything. I think the idea in itself is wonderful; different from what other people may have thought for their entries. I think you deseerrrvee an epic place.
I think the plant and the dirt is so charming... you've painted it wonderfully! <3 I love the plant's colour and glow, and the dirt seiving(sp) through his metallic palm. :'D That looks fun to have painted.
I also really love his face (both sides!), his hair and your use of lighting. And those eyelashes actually make a big part of his human side to me.
There's a few light sources of different colours going on here too; you've pulled it off beautifully. :3
I like the background too, and how it sort of fits in with the robotic side of Virus. <3 You know... like citiesss/manmade/stoof.
If you wanted critique regarding huuumans I don't think that you have a great deal to worry about, anatomically. <3

I guess all I can think about here is maybe some of the shading and lighting~
I have no idea how strong the glow actually is from Virus' eye, but it would have been cool to see a little bit of red on his fingers, and maybe the odd strand of hair straying near the eye. Ormaybethat'sabittoomuch I'm not sure. D: SJahjkshaj
And maybe some of the blue glow could fall upon his neck chords -- again, I'm no expert. XD
The metal upon his chest for some reason looks odd to me. 8O Maybe it's the highlights on it? It looks as if it's bulging outwards a tad.
And I'm just curious, but as you were colouring and shading, did you lay down a flat and lock the layer's transparency, and then shade on from there? 8O I used to do that and it discouraged me from blending parts of a piece together. That's not your issue at all though, I think I'm just blabbering. LOL
More stuff to pile in this extra-long comment.
Overall, I adore this ever so much. :3 CONTRAST I lurv it. I keep finding new things the more I look at it. For example, he looks so in love with the plant and quite excited thanks to his robotic side, yet the human side of his face seems solemn and gentle. <3 His human side seems careful about the plant (his human hand), yet his mechanical hand has taken the whole plant in his palm willingly. :3

Oh, and I agree with ~nightshadevalentine about the nipple. XD

if it helps he pretty much looks like this [link] I'm just making a few of my own modifications since Waters jumped the gun and made him human before I could say 'mwuip' XD
