I used to have one which shot well, except that sometimes the cylinder would not revolve when you pulled the trigger or hammer. Never could find out why. I would have liked to have reloaded ammo for it.

Sometimes working mechanism depends from 1-2 millimeters, probably damaged metal by because of frequent use.
Recharge in this revolver simplified for reliability, but takes time.

That could have been it. I would like to get the target model with the heavy barrel and adjustable sights.

The Nagant M1895 is the only revolver in the world that can be fitted with a suppressor.

Do not agree. Not important external form of weapons, there are different methods of absorption of sound waves. Muffler can be installed on any weapon.

But in the Nagant M1895, its firing system allows it to use a suppressor without major changes. That's because the cylinder is pushed forward against the barrel before firing, closing the gap between the cylinder and the barrel that any other revolver has.
Here is some more info and a video of a suppressed Nagant .

Any silencer is used to reduce the pressure difference and the absorption of the wave vibrations in the air. Wave breaks up into small pieces and then there is interference between them, in the end most of the wave extinguishes itself. When shot with a silencer sound audible only lash, that is ultra-sound and a little bit of noise (interference effect).
