Sketch-painting of Joe from Megalo Box!This drawing is so ridiculously far out from my comfort zone I can't even. This is more of a experiment than anything else.
Here's how I decided to screw myself over:
1. Male character.
2. Semi-realism. My style is actually pretty close to the anime style, just with painterly colouring
3. Mostly dark piece. I do dark backgrounds from time to time, but even then the characters themselves have pretty bright lighting (like this )
Anyway I left it very rough, as it was already bad enough for me as it is. I planned on drawing him leaning on his motorcycle, but that's going to be even more disastrous for me if I tried. I really focused on the face, and kinda skimped on everywhere else
If I do draw more guys in the future (which I probably will), I'll stick closer to how I draw girls and anime in general.
