I am freeee! Exams have ended and I'm on summer vacation for four months now!First and foremost, I'd like to thank everyone for their patience during this time, and I apologise once again for how unbelievably long people have waited for their requests, but having now gotten back into the swing of drawing, normal service will now resume. The magazine cover is also complete AND published, and I've had permission to post it in the next two weeks.
For now, enjoy the three wise Neimoidians! 8D

Yes, but if you have been paying attention to my post or artists comments, you will know that I have had an incredibly busy time since then, with multiple university projects, exams, AND my magazine backcover. Thus, I have had no time for anyone's request until now.

Nice choices for each of them, haha, what a concept! I actually like that you made them have more natural poses in the way each of them closes their ears/eyes/mouth respectively, instead of the typical stiff poses for the concept. Each of the expressions looks like one you'd easily see a real life person pull off spontaneously.
That having been said, Nute and Lott Dod also look like they broke Dooku's favourite vase or something and are awaiting punishment. Rune just happens to be stuck with them, because when has ever Rune escaped from something horrible whilst in the company of Nute?
Have you been experimenting with a new shading style? Because I really like it here. As do I the different patterns on each character, Nute's is perticularly pretty. And the seat (mechno-sofa? XD ) looks like a real luxury item!

For their poses, I was actually inspired by an episode of Friends (if you've seen it, it's the episode where Ross has to send his monkey to a zoo; at one point, the boys sit on a sofa, with poses pretty similar to these). HAHA! Nute does look pretty terrified of being in trouble here - Rune really does look like he's facepalming XD.
You have a SUPER good eye. I have, indeed, been working on a new,(hopefully) more realistic style, and it actually is derived from my magazine work, as you shall see in two weeks' time 8D. I'm glad you like it, thank you! The sofa, meanwhile, I based off of furniture in Lott Dod's palace from the Concept art of "Senate Spy." I don't think it's mechanical; however a lot of high-class Neimoidian furniture seems to have these Sovereign Beetle legs and patterns, like the Mechno-Chair.

I really need to find the concept art of Senate Spy, that episode had the prettiest backgrounds in the palace. It's cool that you're using it as source matierial for your designs!

Since they updated StarWars.com, they have added new and different concept art than before. If you look up the episode info of Senate Spy, then go into pictures, you'll find it pretty easily. I like using concept art, and pictures from the Star Wars canon, because I can get the most accurate colours and information from it 8D

Oh, thank you very much, I did not know they had such source material on the site. I think what has discouraged me from visiting it so far, was how every time that I have seen an artist on dA link to the page, the page did not exist anymore. :C
I really love it, it is so amazing! It really confirmed my thought that they couldn't have chosen a more fitting artist to illustrate the Neimoidians!

No problem! There are usually about 20-30 photos and concept art pictures per episode, so it's a real treasure trove of information. Also, before the site updated, I went and saved every Neimoidian picture there was, so you can always rely on me, if there's something you need 8D.
Aww, thank you so much!!! I'm SO happy you liked the Nute and Rune part; I was actually a little confused about that bit, because I HAD to keep it "unbiased," but I still wanted enough of a hint so that people could decide for themselves if "something" was there or not XD.
(as a side now, I am just about getting to the point in jet lag, where I can stand up without falling back down, and retain some sort of consciousness for the majority of the day, so I will very definitely be answering your notes soon. In addition, I would be happy to draw the birthday picture as you described. It actually sounds like a rather fun picture to do 8D)
