Having spent the last month studying under a rock, I haven't see any 'Occupy XY' stuff, but this made me snigger. Occupy Naboo!

There's about 372 different Occupy movements in various countries that boycott corruption, capitalism, etc. Now I don't mind a protest in the name of peace and progression, but when it's all you hear about, and it starts to disrupt the lives of people, then it's just irritating. Frankly, THIS is the only "Occupy" I ever want to see...-rant off-

Ah, pardon me, I do know about that, sorry! believe in a good big protest for the right reasons (and corruption certainly is a good reason, my country needs a more vicious battle against it for one...). But judging by everything, this 'occupy' movement may be another one of those altogether overly media-covered situations - where if you feel something is good, it gets ruined by too much hype? This is sadly a common thing today.
And 'disrupting the lives of people' reminds me of when I once tried to get home with all public transportation blocked over a huge protest held by unhappy football club fans. I mean, really, that's hardly a number 1 item on any normal person's agenda to protest about.

Protest can certainly be a good thing...but it all to often gets taken too far and is, as you said, overly-hyped. This particular protest has actually reached meme-status. It's irritating, especially because I despise memes.
It's things like that which anger me. If you want to disrupt the government, fine, but don't inconvenience innocent people who have nothing to do with the protest and are just trying to go about their lives!

Think of them as the internet/visual equivalent of a knock-knock joke: A formula that's well known, but you can adapt to any subject matter you want. Sure, some are stupid and corny, but that's the case with any form of humor.

In my opinion, the vast, VAST majority of them are pathetically stupid and devoid of wit, such as trollface, forever alone, and other such revolting designs. I will admit, yes, there are a few good ones out there...a VERY few; however, for me, the phrase "we heard you the first time" applies most appropriately here.
