Description Yay one dream down - two to go. I'm quite pleased how it came out ( but still the farther trees ticks me off a bit). Anyway this is dream which I had dreamt a few times long time ago. If I remember correctly, dreaming it means that luck will fall upon you...

BTW, what do you think, should I try to change those birches a little ?

P.S. this and other art exam related pics were given to examinators and from that time mom just doesn't give me rest with her whining to get them back - that's how much she liked those works of mine.

Woodless, coloured, watercolour pencils, ink (black, yellow, green and brown), black gel ballpoint pen

2010-05-06 (it's a guess, 'cause I don't remember the exact day) - 2010-05-11

2010-05-12 some enchantments were made (probably not the last ones)

a truly nice dream, indeed
your greatest strenght definetly lies in the details you put in your drawings (all of that grass and leaves must have taken forever)
for me, this is one of my favorite images in your gallery

as you mentioned yourself, those birches look like they could be redone - they look like they were done more careless and with lack of details compared to the rest, then again, it's background, so it's not that obvious to the watcher;
and the small river on the very left looks like it's flowing sideways (judging from the angle), lol

Lol when I am working with details I usually have a lot of patience but that doesn't count when I see that there isn't much left to end the pic. In those moments then I do a half-assed job . Lol, got to learn to pay more attention to those things... Again thank you for those serious thoughts, they really helps me to improve

losing motivation before finishing seems to be a problem many aspiring artists have (including myself, lol)

It looks great! I don't think the trees in the background matter much because the oak is brilliant (and the focus of the whole pic)^^ I really like how the rivers all come together right in front of it

If you really want some crit on the trees in the bg I would suggest to make the leaves more "spotty". The colors kinda blend together a little too much thus making it look like one big leaf and not a treetop.
Other than that, great work. The colors really attracts the eye

Thanks a lot. I tried my best.Btw, what do you thing about farther trees? Is there a need to fix them up? My mom said that they don't really blend with the oak well.

hm The farther trees just look out of focus. Like they are farther away from the oak tree but to me that makes the oak the the focus of the picture. It looks great how it is, to me at least.

Well, actually I wanted that the focus would be on the oak tree. That's why a dilema poped up. Maybe I'll need to do some slight upgrading.
